Okay so I've been playing Dota 2 on my new monitor for a few months by now but lately for the past few days my FPS has been dropping like crazy, I used to be able to maintain 100fps no problem.
Nowadays it ranges from 60-80 and drops to 30-40 very often, I've updated all my drivers and optimized the game using Geforce Experience but I still have the issue.
Can anyone help ? The monitor's resolution is 3440 x 1440 and my GPU is a 1080ti

NOTE: I don't have any issues spectating games, only when I'm playing

EDIT: FPS still drops even if I set all my graphics settings to the lowest
EDIT 2: Happens on CS:GO too

1: clean your pc dust etc/might be causing overheat
2: uninstall geforce experience ,no one uses that trash unless u use the recording feature inside(shadowplay or some shit)
3: disable Vsync in game and nvidia control panel
4: go to nvidia CP>3d settings program>add dota2.exe and set quality for high performance and power management mode to prefer max performance.
5: if u have updated/downloaded any software recently then suggest uninstalling them also try disabling antivirus and try to play and monitor the fps.
6:if u have done all the steps above and still experiencing fps issues then do a clean reinstall of your gpu driver using DDU(display driver uninstaller) download and run the software in windows safe mode, after uninstalling run the latest driver for your gpu.
7: run a fullscan antivirus or malwarebyte.

Did all the steps listed, fixed fps issues for CS:GO but didn't work for Dota
FPS still goes from 80 all the way down to 20 even on lowest settings

if fixed for csgo but not d2 then i think the problem is your gpu because csgo is 80% cpu intensive game. Try turning off your pc and reseat your rams and graphic card , just pull out and install back. its worth a try.

Did this too, no luck
Other games like FIFA, Assassin’s Creed, and Final Fantasy all running without any problem, Dota only not running well

then go to steam d2 properties>Local files>verify integrity of game files. If still doesnt work reinstall d2.

Did this too bro, uninstalled twice yesterday also but still got issues.
Starting to wonder if got optimization issue since Dota 2 got so many updates the past month :/

your res 3440 x 1440 is really big for dota2 , try enabling blackbar and play with lower res.

Yeah just tried lowering to 2560 x 1440 and 1920 x 1080 both at lowest settings but still fps around 40-80
Really have no idea why it's like this.

is it due to vsync related?

No idea, I tried these different settings and still facing the issue

1. NVIDIA VSNYC off and in game off
2. NVIDIA VSYNC on and in game off
3. NVIDIA VSYNC on and in game on

probably GPU issue~ maybe clean GPU and reapply thermal paste?

I don’t think so bro, cause the gpu’s still quite new and all other games have no issues

Its DotA2 update coz the prob.
