Still can not decide now without the review of N82. Anyway i think N82 is better cos xenon flash and it got optical zoom right?

Key points about the phone:
The N82 features a 5 mega pixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics. This is the same camera module as that found in the N95. Instead of an LED based flash the N82 has a Xenon based flash. This is more powerful and should give better picture in low light situations. The camera is also reportedly much faster to start and to capture pictures.

Nokia describe it as the 'best cameraphone on the market' and a 'creditable alternative to stand alone cameras'. The camera also supports shooting video (at VGA resolution at up to 30 fps). There is an on device editor for both still images and video (video editing more basic than N95). Camera specifications are:

Focal length: 5.6 mm

Nokia highlight the sharing capabilities of the phone. The N82 will ship with Share Online pre-installed. This allows for one click upload to Flickr and other web services. There's also the usual XpressPrint support which allows you to print photos via Bluetooth (to supported printers) or via USB (PictBridge compatible printers). You can also order prints online directly from your phone.


There's an on board accelerometer to enable automatic rotation of the user interface. When you turn the phone from portrait to landscape orientation the UI will automatically change (user configurable). This is also used to automatically rotate photos to the correct orientation when you capture them.


The screen is a 2.4 inch QVGA screen with support for 16 million colours. (This is smaller than the N95 (2.6 inches) and the N95 8GB (2.8 inches), but the phone is smaller overall than both of these devices.


The phone weighs in at 114g and has dimensions of 112 x 50.2 x 17.3 mm (90cc in volume). This phone is similar in size and shape to the Nokia N73 (110 x 49 x 19 mm).


The phone includes a built in GPS (with support for assisted-GPS to give fast satellite / location lock on times). Nokia Maps is pre-installed and the phone comes with a free trial of the voice guidance portion of Nokia Maps.


The phone has a 3.55mm audio jack for listening to music. This is also used for the TV-Out function. The phone ships with a wired headset (HS-43). There are integrated stereo speakers, along with an FM radio, support for both Windows Media DRM and OMA DRM 1.0/2.0 specifications


There is 100MB of dynamic internal memory and a microSD (SDHC is supported) card slot for memory expansions. A 2GB microSD card card is included in the sales package (this may vary by market).


The phone's connectivity options include quad-band GSM, WCDMA at 2100 MHz (European / Asian bands), and WiFi (802.11 b/g) inlcuding support for UPnP connectivity.


The usual Bluetooth support is on board including support for the AVRCP and A2DP profiles. There is no IrDA port.


PC connectivity is provided by a micro USB port. The phone supports USB Mass Storage and Windows Media Transfer protocol.


The phone uses the Nokia BP-6MT with a capacity of 1050 mAh.


The N82 is available immediately in key markets (Europe, Middle East and Asia). The unsubsidised prices in 450 Euros before tax (around £315). You can therefore expect a high street price of around £370-£400 initially (based on 17.5% tax).

I still love N95 8GB, better bigger screen and looks nicer too, IMHO. I am never a Nokia fan until N95 came out, one of the reason I don't like Nokia is because of the look of the phone, haha.

thickness you mean? K850i is 17mm wheres N82 is 17.3mm
the difference is 0.3mm is considered negligible d la.. ~~

Yup, basically what N95 can do, N82 can too except for the IrDA, bigger screen and better looking. N95 is not much bigger than N82 too, N95 is not that big, it's actually pretty sleek (but chunky on the side, hehe) for it's capability. But this is all personal preferences.

N95 & N95 8GB can have that auto rotate function with the aide of 3rd party application, Nokmote. The hardware is pre-ready for this capability.
N82 has longer battery life because of the small screen, big screens eats battery.

And yes, N82 is cheaper or course, the launched price could be same or lower than the current price of N95 (the old one).

Oh well, I would say if you like the look of this phone than N95 or N95 8GB, you should get it. Because based on my personal preferences, I like the look of N95 8GB better than both N95 and N82

If what you've said is right, I'm gonna get this model instead of n95...

But there is one thing that I want to know about this phone...The RAM...
How many bytes does this phone have...Will it cause laggy operation while using it..?
I've heard that n95(old one) is lack of RAM...

thats what i heard also, memory leak they called it >.>

N82 has approximate 90MB of free RAM for you to spend it!
wheres the poor old N95 has very little RAM(about 18MB)

I'm definitely gonna get this model if the price is at the same range as n95...

i don't think it will cheaper or same price as N95

but the first batch is priced at 400 euro + so I predict it's going to be slightly more than N95 8GB

I think it will be cheaper than the old N95 current price, about RM2200 authorised set, right?
The free RAM is as much as N95 8GB then, if you said it's 90MB, the old N95 free RAM does suck (one of the reason why I waited for the 8GB version).

After checking all the comments etc, this phone is not trying to top N95 (old) or the new 8GB, but more like direct competition with that K850i. Which sadly, the k850i will loose. Nokia will not make phones to compete with their own phones because they dont really care, anyway people will still buy their brands. BUT most importantly is to get people to buy more Nokia than other phones.

I'll say the price maximum would be RM2500.

N82 can take video size VGA ???!!! This is cool man.....come up wif xenon flash too....how much is this phone? Available in market already?

N82 is not the direct competitor of K850i anymore.. this is because N82 is too much better(in term of features pack) and leaves the K850i with dust, or even better than its N95
or we should think in this way.. how can a person compares 2 different brand handphones with the price difference by at least RM500(assumption made) when he wants to buy a phone???do you do that?

yap, all manufactures will never come out a phone which will compete to its own products,.. this is not because they don't care but it is because they don't want to kill its own product and get less profit haha
but nokia has accidentally launched N82 which perform better than N95 though Nokia has no intention to replace N95, however N95 sales sure will be affected

but i do agree the price range is somewhere around RM2500
