I'm seriously thinking of switching from Hotlink (I feel quite useless) to this Unifi Mobile. I just checked on the Unifi website but there seems to be very little information on the data plan of this Unifi Mobile. Or perhaps I wasn't checking on the right page.
Can someone just give me some quick details on this Unifi Mobile which I cannot seem to find on the website? Just 2 simple questions. 1. What is the data plan available? How much do we need to pay monthly to keep the SIM card active? On the FAQ page, I only get to see the reload amount options which are RM10, RM30, RM50 and RM100. Are these reload for 1 month period? Meaning if you reload RM10, this will keep the line active for 1 month before you need to reload again? 2. What are the data plans available for internet ? |

For Hotlink, the minimum monthly pass (reload) is RM30 to keep the link active for one month. For this reload, there is only 2GB for 1 month (too little) but they give 30 GB of Happy Hour which I think is useless as 1GB that is given for each day is only for 1 hour only.
Meaning, with Hotlink, for RM30 per month you get 2GB + 30GB (1 GB for 1 hour/day which I feel is useless). I am thinking of switching to Unifi Mobile if the rates and plan is better. |

QUOTE(asrin @ Sep 19 2018, 10:10 AM) Bloody shit. Looks like this Ookyo is a much better choice than the useless Hotlink. Just checked the Ookyo webpage and found this:-1. Unlimited Internet for 4 apps of your choice + 5GB high speed internet. Only RM 30 for 30 days. No contract. 2. Use unlimited internet every day, all the time. No weird hours WHat about Unifi Mobile? I may just switch to Ookyo by today as the plan looks too good when compared to Hotlink. Too bad I didn't know about this earlier but better late than never. The 1 hour Happy Hour rubbish with Hotlink is useless and the main reason I need to switch to something else. |

For mobile prepaid, just apply for sim and choose your number (if not MNP) at their website. You can choose to collect the sim yourself or pay 10/- for delivery to you.Meaning, with Hotlink, for RM30 per month you get 2GB + 30GB (1 GB for 1 hour/day which I feel is useless). I am thinking of switching to Unifi Mobile if the rates and plan is better. Once active install their mobile app, all their addons are there for purchase. Briefly for 30/- add-on , you get 4 gb LTE (2gb shared 3G/LTE and 2gb LTE only). There is no expiry as long as you use at least once every 90 days. That means the data will be carried forward forever as long as you do not stay dormant more than 90 days ( currently this is not strictly enforced yet, reports from users indicate even if dormant more than 90 days, line still can be used). Which means you do not need to top up every 30 days like keep hotlink to stay active. If you fancy unlimited data, there are various addons. For e.g 20/- will buy you unlimited data for 7 days at capped speed of 10 Mbps. Also check out their promo of 55/- for unlimited data for 30 days (10mbps). Will do some homework and may just decide by end of today between this Unifi Mobile and Ookyo. Once active install their mobile app, all their addons are there for purchase. With Ookyo for RM30 you get UNLIMITED data for the whole month whereas this Unifi Mobile it looks like it is RM55 for unlimited data which costs higher than Ookyo. |

Though to enjoy the unlimited data for 1 month, it is RM55/month with Unifi Mobile. If you do not need 3g, all the 4gb data will be used for 4g LTE. Need to check out more on this Ookyo as it seems that this Ookyo only offers internet data but not telephone calls?? Information on the site seems vague and there is no telephone number for customers to call the customer service on the Ookyo site to ask questions. |

Ookyo is hybrid plan..the 4 unlimited is pay by credit card or online banking with gst..the unlimited call for RM8.00 use hotlink reload..total is RM38.00..ookyo use VPN for unlimited apps..more apps use add on RM5-8.00 per apps.. And come with additional 5GB any use data.. |

For Ookyo , if you choose to install their YouTube unlimited app, the resolution will be 480p (which is less than 2mbps). Need to check out more on this Ookyo as it seems that this Ookyo only offers internet data but not telephone calls?? Information on the site seems vague and there is no telephone number for customers to call the customer service on the Ookyo site to ask questions. Roughly, if you use more than 3gb data monthly using their 4 chosen apps, then go for Ookyo. They should also have better coverage than Unifi. For 3gb data usage or less per month, Unifi will be more economical. However if you use large data for hotspot Netflix etc (router practical) then yoodo apps won't do and their 5gb high speed also won't cut it. So Unifi unlimited (10mbps) is more suitable.
