QUOTE(ac98 @ May 12 2007, 12:54 AM) Old school photographers will always consider used units becoz of tight budget or simply wanna get a better camera to use regardless of the age (me for instance) versus the cost of the latest model but lower end. No matter what I say, I simply cannot convince lotsa newbies to follow my way. If the kit lens is the ONLY reason you're getting the Nikon D40/D40X instead then you're not really smart ... you're loosing out more than just lense usage in the long run. Nikon has over a dozen lenses waiting for you to grab, the some you'll have to loose autofocus or metering options over. Used unit have to go into more research as in how many shutter count. Whether unit was damaged by previous owner. sort of like take to mechanic to check out the car. New unit, can bypass all those concerns somewhat. As to your other point. I didnt mention the D40/D40X at all. I was talking about the D80. The choice is either a D80 or a 400D. and part of it boils down to the Lens and the ergonomics. Dang It.. Kena Poison again by this article http://photo.net/equipment/building-a-digital-slr-system/Looks like chances to get the 400D is back again. Fixed Focal Length LEnse.. hmm... I want to shoot in low light conditions. (eg: Wedding Dinners and indoors) Low F-Step. This post has been edited by myjunk: May 12 2007, 08:21 AM

Please add prices to this thread from other outlets in different shopping malls.
As far as I know, they have different prices even from the same franchise (eg. Fotokem). Fotokem (1 Utama) more expensive than Fotokem (LYP).
