Just switched over to Maxis from Unifi not long ago.

previously I was able to connect to FTP without any issue when on Unifi
now using Maxis, i can never connect to my FTP servers . keep getting timed out.

anyone else have similar issue ?

I saw on http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-283...axis-fiber.html that FTP access is disabled , Is it true ?

Or, call their helpdesk, complain that you can't access certain port on you PC at home from outside (never mention server, FTP, or any server-related services. Just ports....). Prepare lists of ports for easier references....

not from external to my PC. if external cannot, usually due to double segmenting.
what i meant was from internal to external ftp servers. you can telnet to those servers but connection gets dropped before you can even authenticate.

if i turn on my VPN, i have no issue connecting to my ftp server.

calling the helpdesk would be the last thing to do.. just wanna know who else having same issue and what's the workaround besides VPN.

it's nothing about home or business use..
give you an example, if you have a HP laptop and you wanna download some driver... some drivers are hosted on ftp... if you can't access FTP, you can't download the drivers.

i bet you're one of those that doesn't know how things really work.

FTP access is open. im not hosting a ftp server. i'm connecting outbound..

its not my first day using internet btw.

If i go on unifi or most of the mobile broadband, there's no issue.

I read back your post and you mentioned MY FTP SERVER.

FTP website is work for all kind of internet connection.

I have Maxis Fibre home and business, both no issue at all, even connecting to DELL FTP or HP FTP, as its work like web browser, and downloading from FTP also no issue.

haha.. sorry mate.. no hard feelings yea..
the maxis engineer just confirmed that what i suspected was true.. connection got double segmented. it's like vlan within a vlan so that was stopping me from using FTP =)

seems like new account has this by default =)
