Just got my twilight p20 pro last night. This is my first time using Huawei. I am impress by how good the UI has become. Really love this phone! The camera is awesome!
I always tell my friend EMUI > Samseng UI but they don't believe me..
I had just purchased a Huawei P20 Pro last week. I use the magnetic holder to hold the phone. I put the metal on the case and not on the phone. I found out that, if I was to put the magnetic holder somewhere near the rear camera area, then the touchscreen will stop working, while the fingerprint reader still function as normal.
As soon as I move the magnet away from this particular area at the back of the phone, the touchscreen back to normal functionality. But as soon as I move the magnet back to the area again, the touchscreen stops functioning again.
This makes me suspect that the back of the phone does not give sufficient magnetic shielding to the electronic components at that area and this area so happen has something to do with touchscreen functionality.
Curious other Huawei P20 Pro owner have encounter this problem or not;
Of course I can easily solve it by moving the magnetic holder a bit lower than the rear camera position. So it is not a big issue. But is a finding worth mentioning I think. Especially to those who like to use magnetic holder.
Here I include a short video demonstrating what I mean:
There are reports that magnetic case cover damage the touchscreen of some samsung phones.
First overnight battery drain report on my P20 Pro:
- Unplug at 10.45pm at 100% charge - WiFi and 4G on, DND mode engaged, but without any power saving mode - At 6.45am, phone shows 98%, or a drop rate at 0.25% per hour
That's pretty impressive for an Android phone. If it had been a Samsung, with the same settings I'd get about a 7-8% drop in the same time frame.
The CPU has AI built in to optimise battery usage, future result will be more impressive....
While samseng battery will be getting worse, Huawei battery will be getting superior...
