Hi all,

I have a very weird thing thats happening to one of my DS4 controller and I apologize in advance if this is not the correct subforum to post. Note that I've scoured the internet, forums etc to search for a solution but i just cant seem to find any. bangwall.gif

Issues:

- Controllers Bluetooth will NOT connect to the PS4.
- The controller can ONLY be used if its connected via cable on the PC. I use it mostly to play Witcher 3 on Steam.
- When connected to PS4 via cable, only the orange light is turned on.
- Pressing the PS button does nothing. Not a beep. No lights. NOTHING!

Failed fix attempts :

- tried resetting
- pressed PS button and options
- pressed reset button (5sec) in the back
- connected cable to ps4, did hard shut down to invoke database rebuild

If you sifu's know of any way I can fix this, it would be a great help! Also, is it fixable if sent to shop?

Thanks in advance!

Could be Bluetooth is damaged.
Older PS4 controllers cannot be linked/controlled via USB with PS4.

Only the newer PS4 controller can do so. The one with the light bar on the touchpad.

Chances are it's the Bluetooth receiver on ur controller.
Try doing this and see if you can detect it on your pc.

cant. the controller doesnt even light up when i press the PS button. meaning that it wont be receiving or transmitting any BT signals.

That confirms it then.
As for causes, did you use a quick charge charger to charge your dualshock ? There are cases where those higher voltage charger damages the dualshock.

I can't recall though i'm not discounting the possibility. noted on the quick charger.

i will try and do a battery swap and see if that works and possibly the USB board as well.

thanks guys! will update.

pinjam tret...

if the controller battery dead... can i still use it by plugging to the ps4? as in classic psx style biggrin.gif

Only second gen dualshock 4 can do that.
The one with light bar on the touch pad.

Original dual shock 4 cannot do that. It can only connect to your PS4 via Bluetooth even when you plug it in

Seems to be the Bluetooth then.
It's not transmitting any Bluetooth at all.

my thoughts as well. im still waiting for my USB board to arrive then i'll really make my decision. right now, even after swapping the battery and USB board, the controller still wont turn on. (yes, the swapped battery was fully charged.)
