QUOTE(Icehart @ Jul 7 2018, 01:11 AM) oh my 1Gbps time to shop around for Cat7 cable and Gigabit LAN card wifi cant keep up also upgrade to NVMe SSD for max potential Cat7 really is a snake-oil for home networking. Instead, you'll save some money and buy a decent cat5e or cat6 (if doing longer distance). Even cheap2 china-made cat5e can handle 1Gbps easily. QUOTE(Kidz1995 @ Jul 18 2018, 01:54 PM) the download/upload speed for file should be around : 800DL/200UL = 80MBit/s DL / 20Mbit/s UL 500DL/150UL = 50MBit/s DL / 15Mbit/s UL 300DL/100UL = = 30MBit/s DL / 10Mbit/s UL 100DL/50UL = = 10MBit/s DL / 5Mbit/s UL is it correct? Typically capital 'B' in MB is for Byte, thus. 1 MByte = 8 Mbit. So the correct one is: 800DL/200UL = 100MByte/s DL / 25MByte/s UL 500DL/150UL = 63MByte/s DL / 19MByte/s UL 300DL/100UL = 38MByte/s DL / 8MByte/s UL 100DL/50UL = 13MByte/s DL / 3MByte/s UL This post has been edited by izhamsatria: Jul 18 2018, 02:32 PM

QUOTE(Cynox @ Aug 13 2018, 04:13 PM) yes, very true. Most gamers will prefer a ultra low latency link to US/Europe/Aussie, rather than a ultra high bandwidth for download. Bruh, even with direct routing to servers in US/EU, the ping will be > 200ms due to long distance. This post has been edited by izhamsatria: Aug 13 2018, 04:22 PM

QUOTE(mylinear @ Aug 15 2018, 11:02 AM) Anyone got experience on this? If the fibre cable from the post to outside your house got problem and has to be replaced, do you have to pay for it? You'll pay the contractor, expect more than RM100.

QUOTE(mylinear @ Aug 15 2018, 11:10 AM) During installation, it is free from post to house. Then inside house is free for standard installation. I can understand if inside got problem we have to pay to re-do. But outside cable if broken or tree branch fall and damage etc etc, I thought its their responsibility. Yes you're right about the first part. However, during my membawang session with fellow contractor, nowadays TM does not provide free cables to them. It's their responsibility to determine what type of cable used during your installation as kampung area tends to have monyet joget @ cable. So, asks them to use self-supporting cable one (more expensive).
