Does anyone knows what is the status with TM new plan offering in June?
It was not an official announcement by TM but leaked I think a few months ago.
The new plan is not using fibre optic and using "box" which you can use in any house.
This is not unifi wireless broadband because it was mentioned wired broadband.

Edit:
Here is the article.

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Jun 21 2018, 10:37 AM)
PUTRAJAYA: Fixed broadband prices are expected to drop by at least 25% by year end in a move by the Pakatan Harapan government to fulfil its election manifesto pledge.

This anticipated reduction is due to the Mandatory Standard on Access Pricing (MSAP) which came into force on June 8.

Reduce by AT LEAST 25% due to MSAP. So could be more than 25% due to other factors, but maybe not by July/Aug 2018.
Read Najib's manifesto launched in April, he had postponed "half price and double speed" from "2 years from 2017" to "within 5 years if BN wins GE14".
PH's manifesto didn't specify the time frame but it should be a 5-year job scope.
*
Perhaps maybe really implement for discount 25%, sure will all mess.
Later a lot of ppl complain same packages but a lot of pricing.. Just like previously people take 30Mbps, some people enjoy RM139/month, some RM179/monthly and some more worst RM199/monthly..

Guess what? Oh ya~ Soon there is another typoon whole Malaysia (existing customers) sure will complain like shit.

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Jun 21 2018, 10:58 AM)
Damn Najib, confirm the allocated budget had been 'taken' by najib to pay 1MDB debt.

No wonder certain people from TM resigned.

If you read these two from last year:
https://www.mcmc.gov.my/skmmgovmy/media/Gen...ess-Pricing.pdf
https://www.mcmc.gov.my/skmmgovmy/media/Gen...ess-Pricing.pdf
Remember, only Internet package section got discount. No discount for Hypptv crap.
Prepare for quota system, although I can guarantee there will be riot if it is implemented.
*
If this people from TM resigned, and change the better person can improve the service quality and also COVERAGE.
Then it's ok... But if reducing the prices, what about those people who suffer more than 10 years don't have Unifi coverage?? mad.gif

This is NOT the way to solve the problem.. This YB should enforcement for at least certain percentage should improve the COVERAGE.
By the way, that crappy Hypptv.. If can increase the number of channels (better quality of channels), then it should be OK.
Else, pay for RM30/mth watch those crappy in-house channels.. What for?? I rather to pay this RM30/mth to Tabung save Malaysia...

QUOTE(zwanvedder @ Jun 21 2018, 11:03 AM)
no point having 100-300Mbps then u implement the quota... rclxub.gif
*
Even through implement 1Gbps, then the speed like 10mbps.. What is the point?
Some-more later implement so big big like 300mbps, then implement quota more shit...

I just wondering why need to implement "quota"?? That's already outdated already.. In fixed broadband, implement the quota then all people rather to use wireless broadband.. Not need fixed broadband..

The new plans are as detailed below:

1. A new affordable entry level unifi package at 30Mbps for targeted B40 segment. Lower income groups can access high-speed broadband through this package at a price point below RM100 (more than 40% lower price from the existing 30Mbps package). Registration for pre-booking starts 15 July 2018 via unifi.com.my.

REMARKS: This technique is almost like last time the Streamyx Jom Jimat Hebat which is available for target low income group users.

2. unifi ‘turbo’ plans offering more than double the current broadband speed. TM will gradually upgrade the speed for all its existing unifi customers at more than double the speed at no extra cost starting 15 August 2018, while new customers subscribing to existing unifi plans before 31 December 2018 will also be upgraded accordingly in 2019.

PROBLEMS: I guess most of the customers will even complain fierce about this double current broadband speed because same upgrade speed but different package pricing. shakehead.gif

3. Special package upgrade for pre-unifi (formerly known as Streamyx) customers in unifi areas nationwide. Eligibility status check will be available via unifi.com.my from 15 July 2018.

Note: All above are subject to technical availability in customers’ areas and terms & conditions.

REMARKS: Well~ Don't expect TM will act fast will available for the Unifi coverage whistling.gif

4. A re-launch of its ‘unlimited’ unifi Mobile postpaid plan, which gives customers unlimited data, calls and messaging. This serves as a convergence offering exclusive to existing broadband customers and will be available at all unifi outlets and unifi.com.my from 15 July 2018.

Bazlan said as Malaysia’s convergence champion, “we believe that internet access is a critical enabler to grow our digital and creative economy towards making life and business easier for all”.

PROBLEMS: If you are telling unlimited data, call and messaging, then do you cap the speed max 3Mbps?

Currently, TM serves nearly two million broadband homes, more than 8 million individuals and connect more than 10 million devices nationwide.

He said the plans were to meet Malaysians' demand for faster internet connection at affordable prices, which has been its aspiration since the launch of unifi in 2010.

In October 2016, it announced its Broadband Improvement Plan (BIP), with speed increase upgrades of up to 100Mbps at the same price and completed the exercise in 2017 to benefit close to one million broadband customers nationwide, including 323,000 pre-unifi customers.

REMARKS: I guess some of the customers still did not enjoy free upgrade speed up to 100mbps. SO are you sure? cool2.gif

“Currently, we have started contacting our pre-unifi customers in unifi areas for an upgrade to unifi plans.

REMARKS: In simple, will start to contact for our pre-unifi customers "FOR SELECTED CUSTOMERS ONLY".

“For others not in unifi areas, we will continuously invest in our network to provide at least our 30Mbps entry level unifi package through the latest fixed and wireless broadband technologies.

REMARKS: Well~ Pls wait at least 5 years for other not unifi areas. shakehead.gif

“Collectively, these new Broadband plans will catapult Malaysia beyond a majority of our regional peers into a competitive set of countries globally with high-speed broadband,” he added.

QUOTE(Ebony & Ivory @ Jul 3 2018, 08:12 PM)
imagine A user pay RM179 100mbps -> 500mbps
B user pay RM189 50mbps -> 300mbps
C user pay RM199 30mbps -> 100mbps
and this list keep going on

still not standardized the price.

but at least they increase the bandwidth, so we should be grateful lol? sweat.gif
they said "more than double" for all existing customer? so should include 100mbps. should make it at least on par with time like 100, 300 and 500. later time introduce 1gbps to counter back.
*
You should compare those subscribers A pay RM139 30mbps > 60mbps and another subscribers B pay RM179 30mbps > 60mbps.

Not only still not standardized the price, but somemore tied for shit contract.

You should be grateful if after really increase the bandwidth, then meet the bandwidth speed requirement. No comment for that.

Otherwise, your bandwidth speed been upgrade from 30mbps to 60mbps, but enjoy the speed still 30mbps. That is not a really "upgrade bandwidth speed". All is "wording" only.

QUOTE(telurhilang @ Jul 3 2018, 10:25 PM)
Some unable to enjoy free upgrade due to infra limitation. For example my apartment can only support up to 30mb. So what TM did is they give me ultimate/jumbo hypptv package which I rarely use. But today i just realized that it is only free for 12 month, next month i need to pay bloody rm60!!  doh.gif
Super angry today straight call CS to terminate  bruce.gif  bruce.gif  bruce.gif
*
I dun think so TM unable to upgrade due to infra limitation. They serve more than 1 million customers for this fiber service provider. Impossible tell us this one very costly, so don't plan to upgrade. This must be fool around.

TM earn a lot of profit, that cannot say "they earn 10k money profit from customers".

Free your hypptv package, it just make you "just make you small happy within 5 sec" only. But this can't resolve the problem.

Subsribers rather want to listen how your improvement plan. Example like TM will expand the more ports or coverage in Cheras and expectation will complete within 2018. Something listed down for other new residential areas. And how their way to increase by bandwidth. There are something details should announcement to subscribers using what technology and subscribers will feel impress like "Woooww, that is really shiokkk.."

Almost half info still hide information from subscribers. Because there are achieve the max way still unable to resolve the solutions but just blast free upgrade with no cost OR reducing price.

Ntg much attractive at all except "just a small happy within 5 sec" for the new plan.

I do hope TM can prove me wrong biggrin.gif

I'm also thinking they really increase 10X speed?
Don't just talk and write only.. TM should prove us on-the-spot by using speedtest. cool2.gif

If serious increase 10X speed, then might be impose 60GB limited quota per month.
So don't expect much of it, we know TM ability. whistling.gif
