My area finally got Unifi, currently on streamyx, planning to sign up for the Edu pack then wait for the speed upgrade.
Question, what is the time taken to switch from Streamyx to Unifi? How many hours of downtime? Do I need to take whole day annual leave? I know there are lots of variables here but my property is landed not high rise.

QUOTE(biloxee @ Jul 14 2018, 06:08 PM) I requested TM to cancel Streamyx on the day of the Unifi installation at TM Point. So the day the guy came to install, he called TM to cancel Streamyx and proceeded with the Unifi install. I also followed up @100 after the installation to confirm that my Streamyx was cancelled... Yea, I've never seen one for Unifi either... Oh well, they can still throttle and/or make your life miserable at night. QUOTE(ahpek26 @ Jul 14 2018, 06:25 PM) Register unifi, after finish install then cut streamyx. Zero downtime. Ok thanks, but how long do they take to install for landed property? QUOTE(YoungMan @ Jul 14 2018, 08:46 PM) Base on my experience, the downtime is minimal. It took them around 2 hours to lay the cables and setup equipment, i opt for standard installation hence no extra workmenship. After that just migrate the streamyx phone number to unifi and everything is up and running after some testing. While they are doing work, your landline and streamyx can still function. It will only terminate once installation is successful, same day. As for your annual leave, it depends. If your installer can come on time, half day is definitely enough. But be prepare just in case they are late from the original appointment time. Thank you for this, I think better to take 1 day. Just incase This post has been edited by 5p3ak: Jul 14 2018, 09:48 PM

QUOTE(miloaisdino @ Jul 15 2018, 09:20 PM) Actually unifi basic not bad for new user, cos can 'upgrade' to unifi lite at any time. If unifi basic just doesnt suit their usage then upgrade lol.. (rm129 gg 100mbps) But even now tm still nothing on the throttled speed... they say for now not offering any data topup --> does that mean wont enforce quota?? Then if enforce quota, will throttled speed by 128kbps or 3mbps? Since streamyx lite rm38 throttle to 128kbps -> unifi basic throttle to 3×128=3mbps?? correct me if I'm wrong but isn't 3x128kbps = 384kbps?

QUOTE(ahpek26 @ Jul 18 2018, 10:45 PM) More like it has always been slow at this time, i.e. peak hour. Speed should gradually improve nearing midnight time. Imgur, Twitch, Streamable will slow down to a crawl at 8PM at my place. No word from TM so clearly its working as intended for them. For people who watch Twitch religiously every night then get a VPN and bypass TM's bullshit speed cap. Worked for my case just using a free proxy or VPN. any good VPN to recommend?

QUOTE(Xefron @ Jul 22 2018, 08:07 AM) Group of people who don’t get speed upgrade. SUBB area with Unifi Lite 10Mbps Streamyx 8Mbps user with no unifi FTTH coverage VDSL2 area with maximum 50Mbps VDSL area with maximum 30Mbps ADSL with maximum SNR and no unifi. thank you for the info. If streamyx area with unifi (fiber) support does that mean will eventually get upgraded from Streamyx to 100 Mbps Unifi? As my neighbor few houses away on same street using Unifi 30Mbps and he got the turbo email. This post has been edited by 5p3ak: Jul 22 2018, 06:19 PM

QUOTE(miloaisdino @ Jul 23 2018, 10:11 PM) Still having a little issues with high rises and unit/floor numbers or buildings without a proper road name. Will fix later. Nova address means unifi, icp address means streamyx (unifi lite is a streamyx plan btw for subb only) I just realized mine have 2 one is ICP one is Nova?

miloaisdinoI am on Streamyx I used the tool to check it says Non-SUBB, my neighbor 2 houses beside away on Unifi 30Mbps and he got the turbo email I don't. I checked at TM point my area got Unifi support so will I get the free upgrade? TM point say if eligible they will Email/Call/SMS and upgrade will start from 15 August in phases. They are unable to check for me on the spot. So I used your tool when I search for my address there came out 2 one for ICP the other NOVA.
