Huh,

SPM add math is very very easy compared to those calculus in higher study.

If you have trouble understanding, then it’s not for you.

Get A or B on the next Test and then you can proceed.

Hey guys, I really need your opinion. So I recently got my SPM result and I failed my Add Maths For SPM. I'm studying A Levels Maths currently and its all about the basics of Add Maths Form 4&5. My teacher called me to drop my A Level maths and change to other courses because she think I could not cope with what she was teaching in the classroom. Basically, I went to the admission office of the college and asked if I'm in this kind of situation, will the teacher teach me? And they said yes. But now after studying for 2months...I realize the teacher is not teaching and expect us to have basics for our 'Add Maths'. She keep on persuading me to drop Maths and had no effort in teaching me. She said even if I passed for AS, I cannot go further or I would fail in my A2...how??? Should I continue A Levels maths or drop it? But the future job that I really admire and wanted to do requires maths..I'm in a difficulty in choices now...any suggestions? Or is there anyone having the same situation as me and end up getting at least a B in A Level maths?
If you are a Malaysian Chinese and that you have failed for Additional Mathematics, it's like kemaluan besar.

If I were you, I would try my best to learn it myself and if I have any questions I'll just make an appointment with the lecturer and if the lecturer tak nak entertain go learn from YouTube and math app ( the one that shows steps) jer. Mind you I got a D for add math and I'm studying cs right now which is full of math which I managed to pull through.

Have you tried studying?
Didn't mean that by staring at book for 30 minutes and then go play games.

I didnt take add math for my SPM, but I took Math HL for my IB Diploma. Got 5 points out of 7 for the subject, so I'd say it's manageable TS, as long as you're willing to put extra work (I didnt, dats why I got the worst grade in my class).
+ I believe you can re-take your A-Level kan?

Go for it TS!

we all know msian education system is rote learning (memorizing all the way till ur degree) - remember stuffs till exam then forgets everything afterwards. but hey it works anyway.

so ur saying maths is difficult, could be ur not putting enough effort. our system has never thought us to LEARN TO UNDERSTAND, but rather REPETITIOUS EXERCISE to excel. doing those dumb add maths questions are repetitious.

having that said, its not really intelligence related, but more effort basis. if ur born dumb, put more effort still can get away with it

Complain to the principal about the teacher. Say you paid the fees but she's doesn't want to teach you.

That'll learn her.

Advice is pointless.
U should ask yourself are u ready to push yourself to catch up.
U keep saying teacher don’t want guide me, everyone go so fast I cannot catch up.
All I can see is.. u are blaming others for your own problem. Lecturer don’t want guide you, etc etc

Do you want it bad enough? If you do then work for it. Don’t think oh what if I fail then, should I drop it now? But I want my dream job
Do you want it bad enough? If you do, just grind. Go take add maths tuition at night or whatever. Need sacrifice la. U think life is so easy?

Or.. u can just take the easy way out and drop it. Then don’t whine next time about u hate your job when it’s not eat u wanted.

Im taking AS this june, even though I got C for addmaths in spm, Im really fucked up for AS maths.
But in my case, I didnt really study, fuck around for 1 year, even failed maths in sem exam

Just because you failed in spm doesnt mean you cant score well, but you have to put hell lot of effort into it. A levels is all about how much effort you put in, you should know if you are a hardworking person. If not, just change course before its too late.

Work hard, dont be like me

Imo, maths is something that requires you to actually understand it to be able to answer it.

I hate add maths. Gave up on it long time before spm.
