in wechat , you can switch wallet region ..

go to RMB , the easier way, visit shopee , a lot of people are selling RMB there

for receiving, if your CN wechat wallet hit certain amount, they will ask you to verify or else you can't receive any RMB angpao or direct transfer
but there's a way ... download wechat window client .. login your wechat via window client , ask your friend to send you angpao or direct transfer .. u will be able to receive ..

last month angpao can no problem .. not sure this month .. maybe i try next week

yesterday is direct transfer ..

my CN wallet didnt do any verification ..

i only verify my MY wallet
