QUOTE(xperiaDROID @ Aug 28 2018, 03:35 PM) No promotions currently. personally i dont think it's KK mart who is doing a promotion for BOOST.Wonder why KK mart isn't doing a promotion for Wechat Pay, while they've done it for others like Boost / TnG / Mcash before. it's BOOST that do promotion for KK mart. Using KK mart name to attract people to use the app to purchase item. And of course, KK mart name alone is not enough to attract people, so they throw MONEY (50% discount) on the spendings. so i think BOOST is the only party that keep throwing money, those partners still get back full amount of their sales. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 3 2018, 07:26 PM) Came back from China yesterday and I cannot imagine my life without e-wallets. I went to Beijing during May 2018. Whole trip spending using cash. Ticket to Great Wall, Dynasty Palace, etc all also can buy with cash.I exchanged RMB 500 cash and only spent RMB 85 cash because my phone had no 4G that time (I was in a high speed rail train). I have both Alipay and WeChat Pay, both are equally convenient. My friend prefers Alipay because she can earn interest (only for verified Mainlanders). WeChat has its advantage too, for e.g. hawkers by roadside, most of them are normal end users, they prefer WeChat Pay. My advice? Get both, no regret at all. Don’t bother about credit cards because they don’t accept ours except if you visit first tier cities like Beijing, Shanghai and etc. My next trip challenge will be, I will only bring RMB 100 cash for whole trip. I haven’t encountered situation where e-wallet payments are not accepted. Even old grandma of 80 years old selling food by roadside accepts WeChat Pay. I am going to Guangzhou again on 8 September 2018. Will bring cash as well. E-wallet is for convenience, but that doesn't mean they don't accept cash. |

Grabpay can use Amex to top up. So that reason itself already make it outstanding from other e-wallet.
The problem with Grabpay is they don't allow transfer out to bank. So ppl cannot play the game, mean less users. Use grabpay to pay for ride, for example, your house to KLIA/KLIA2, sometime get promo RM35 instead of RM65. So using grabpay to pay for ride is ALWAYS more benefit than straight charge to credit card. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Oct 10 2018, 07:53 PM) that photo mention "*Users can enjoy the "Buy RM10 Get RM5 off" promotion at all the participating brands on a first come first served basis"but since wechat pay discount is apply first before pay, we shouldn't be worry about can't get the RM5 discount right? |

don't need to argue.
just see BNM list them under what catagory, e-money issuer or debit/charge card provider. |

the coupon is to be used to deduct the amount spent when you spend on something right?
is not give the money into wechat wallet immediately without spending right? |

account locked and to unlock your account need to be verified by someone else.
WeChat passes on the verification responsibility to that "someone else". as simple as that. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 7 2019, 10:10 PM) Yeah, she is a nice friend. there are many reasons an account can be locked. No, she can use hers too. What I understand from someone I know who helps to do verification, 1 ID can validate 5 accounts. Nope. WeChat expects you to use your own identity (ID) and rightfully WeChat Pay CN is meant for Chinese only. Obviously they won't have issue to verify, only non-Chinese citizens will have to find a workaround to get it work. either been hacked, key in multiple wrong password, etc. your case the reason of being locked is a bit special. to unlock is the same way. |
