One thing in common for local e wallet apps, they only know how to launch their app but don't make it work, the purpose of e wallet is to replace our physical wallet, providing us a convenient way of making payments. I've used the local ones before, they're really shit, there are 3 common things that will happen...
1. Merchant doesn't support the e wallet you're using
2. Merchant is hesitant to let you use it
3. Merchant doesn't support any e wallet at all
We have like more than 10 local e wallet apps running here, so are they expecting people to install 10 e wallet apps and manage the 10 of them?
They only know how to flood the market with their app instead of improving it. Take a look at China, they only have 2 major e wallet apps and people there use it everyday, and it's supported like everywhere.
I hope Wechat can change it, since they have the experience and the budget.
