It's better to post here.
As above. It seems now no longer able to do it but if can add since last time then it can continue adding. It serves no purpose because we can't use it to do anything.

There is so many ewallet payment systems launched for since last year. However I really didn't notice any of these gain any traction support from retailers. Hope Wechat pay could gain more support from retailers.

And what’s the point of the need to top up in wallet before make payment, troublesome

So far the only one that's progressing the most is Boost, but it's still far from being a proper e wallet solution. One thing in common for local e wallet apps, they only know how to launch their app but don't make it work, the purpose of e wallet is to replace our physical wallet, providing us a convenient way of making payments. I've used the local ones before, they're really shit, there are 3 common things that will happen...

1. Merchant doesn't support the e wallet you're using
2. Merchant is hesitant to let you use it
3. Merchant doesn't support any e wallet at all

We have like more than 10 local e wallet apps running here, so are they expecting people to install 10 e wallet apps and manage the 10 of them?

They only know how to flood the market with their app instead of improving it. Take a look at China, they only have 2 major e wallet apps and people there use it everyday, and it's supported like everywhere.

I hope Wechat can change it, since they have the experience and the budget.

Eventually most of them will die out

Fave doesn't seem bad either, and since they're on some partnership with Boost, I wonder why they don't merge into one service? Surely bigger coverage will lead to bigger community. I have yet to uninstall Boost, since they're from the locals and quite progressive I'm giving them a chance, so hope they can do something before Wechat Pay takes off here.

BigPay is an entirely different system actually, it's a prepaid card that uses the app to track your transactions of what you buy. Other ones like KiplePay, TnG, MaybankQR, vCash, One2Pay, Mcash, you name it...they should just close down really.

Fave will charge very high merchant fees, very hard to penetrate merchant side, but do give cash back to consumer

For this Malaysia wallet, I'm only interested with top up via BigPay and withdrawal. tongue.gif

For real usage of WeChat Pay, until our e-wallet scene is matured here otherwise I will continue using my WeChat Pay in China. biggrin.gif

As of now, it's still not pushed to my account yet. sad.gif I hope WeChat will really roll out on 11th as what they responded to me.

Agreed. So far, most of the e-wallet have limited success. This maybe the most anticipated e-wallet launch in Malaysia yet.

The reason why WeChat pay and alipay dos o well in China is Because China have low credit card penatration.

Me too. fastforward into the future, my bet is the following will be the dominant e-wallets in Malaysia (not in any particular order)

- WeChat Pay
- Big Pay
- Grab Pay
- Touch N Go / AliPay (incollaboration or independently)

Also worth mentioning that the following has yet to reach our shores but has huge potential when they finally do.

- Apple Pay
- Google Pay

Grab pay might have the least chance, most people still not taking grab

Trying to link with credit card only realize not supported. Given the benefit of credit card, i think most of the people will stick to using cc and wave feature are better.

You can apply BigPay (BigPay allow topup via credit card) then use BigPay to topup your WechatPay.

This is whatost people doing, using big pay and WeChat pay for this loophole, not because they are convenience
