QUOTE(edmund_yung @ Oct 22 2022, 09:15 AM) Back then there weren't a lot of content in 10-bit, so most gamers are more interested of getting a faster monitor than a color pleasing one. another notable thing is that most monitors with 10-bit depth will have DCI-P3 color space being targeted...and unclamped. this means when viewing everything you will suffer oversaturation because most of the stuffs are sRGB. unless you switch your monitor profile to whichever that is sRGB color space, or calibrate it using external hardware which I did. then software like photoshop, chrome will load your calibrated profile and provide good color accuracy. does not work for games though because it'll require proper 3DLUT.Even now there aren't a whole lot of true 10-bit IPS monitors, many are 8-bit+FRC, but not a bit deal as long as the user are fine with it and the colors are there. but normal users prob don't need to do so. only for nitpickers edmund_yung liked this post

QUOTE(Vannus @ Oct 27 2022, 10:02 PM) Replaced the 4-1 adaptor that came in the box, to the native 12whprw cable that come with PSU PCIE Gen5. Ran Time Spy Extreme stress test for 10 loops while watching the GPU Power from Nvidia Performance Overlay at 400-440W. Softly touching the 12whprw connector on the GPU and the 12whprw connector on the PSU, it's not even hot at all throughout the 10 loops. Looks like it I'm more comfort now that the PC box is safe from catching fire. seasonic iirc have to wait till mid-december...until now FSP ATX3 platinum PSUs released but not in malaysia smh |

QUOTE(ExCrIpT @ Nov 8 2022, 06:02 PM) wanna ask, saw these brands such as Gainward, PNY for RTX cards which is offered for pc bundles. never came across these brands few years back. are they reliable compared to msi, gigabyte? haha, u telling me msi and gigabyte reliable?cant find the price on shops llike tmt, viewnet etc. anyway, gainward and palit basically are the same company. quality pretty much above par from what i've heard. pny is actually usa brand. very experienced company, they are OEMs. This post has been edited by lolzcalvin: Nov 8 2022, 06:14 PM |

QUOTE(ExCrIpT @ Nov 8 2022, 06:20 PM) msi gigabyte big and old brand so i guess more reliable? if u want my honest opinion...it'll be quite the same across brands. like, say your PC components of MSI or Gigabyte go kaput, where will they be shipped to for RMA? overseas cuz malaysia ain't it.so reliability wise, palit gainward, pny, msi, giga, all same same yes? cuz they're abit cheaper than msi or giga but just find it weird i can only see it listed in bundle rigs and not from shops tho are their RMA processes good? well I've never RMA'd any of their components before so I cannot give any opinion. maybe it's good, or maybe not? last i've heard is that MSI has goos in their AIOs and has advanced RMA only for NA, and buyers from other continents can eat dirt. last i've also heard Gigabyte literally has had explosive device in your pc if you nabbed their PSU. if u really want my personal opinion, I'm currently running a MSI 2080 X Trio and afterwards MSI straight goes into my blacklist of shame...well fortunately gigabyte isn't in my blacklist cuz their motherboard is good (and since I'm also using Gigabyte's mobo). |

QUOTE(cnpats @ Nov 10 2022, 11:35 AM) I found 3080 on 11.11 sale lazada Gainward rtx 3080 phantom+ sold by CS Computershoppe. board quality should be on par/above par.I know Gainward is owned by Palit and their GPUs are rebranded Palit cards but I couldn't find much information about Phantom+ online. Does anyone have any experience with gainward phantom gpus or this particular model? Thank you, but I believe their fans are very noisy. heard ppl having issues with the audible noise coming out from the fans above 50%. but that was on the phantom and phantom gs. for phantom+ they're using different fan shround so unclear if that happens or not. |

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Nov 14 2022, 06:03 PM) https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-confirms...-adapter-cables There are two manufacturers of NVIDIA’s 12VHPWR connector, and you should probably avoid one https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/yu...web2x&context=3 QUOTE(sleyer @ Nov 15 2022, 01:32 PM) i feel sometimes igor jumps into conclusion very quickly but otherwise he's done a good middle-investigation, albeit the narrative he goes with is not accurate...same happened when igor jumped into conclusion saying it's the easily broken contact point that caused high resistance and yet GN tested it to no avail. and j2c being drama king as always. we've seen people claiming 1. poor adapter --> even native 12vhpwr also burnt 2. user didn't plug in fully "it's the user error" --> nicely plugged in connector also burnt 3. there is x and y manufacturer for the adapter and stuffs, and avoid x! --> both x and y burnt don't want to do guess work...but if none of the above listed is the cause...what else? I still remember when johnnyguru's released an initial findings about improperly connected connectors but people shit on him, now people act cute dy and also igor releasing half-assed investigations which was good middle investigations but cow shit conclusions that led to massive fearmongering and speculations. hate on NVIDIA's greedy pricings, but don't blame NVIDIA for something they didn't design (PCI-SIG designed this 12vhpwr connector) This post has been edited by lolzcalvin: Nov 22 2022, 12:42 AM |

ok la after 1 week of use:
- gaming, e.g. destiny 2 and forza horizon 5 almost everyday - rendering, blender cycles, iray and v-ray almost everyday total sessions about 4-5 hours a day. weekend is longer. no melt no burn no nothing so far. my cpu bottlenecking it during gaming though. expected but as long as my cpu can work till early next year before I switch mobo and cpu altogether then it's good enough. just make sure you plug in your connector properly. sial when you buy 8k+ item but you are not careful with it. padan muka. "PCMR" some more. when you plug in the connector/adapter, there has to be an audible click sound where it is properly latched, so if you try to cabut, you can't unless you loosen the latch by pressing it while pulling the connector out. another notable piece of advice I can give is that, plug in your connector to gpu first before installing it. additional note though: - there are 4 VGA connectors on the other end of the adapter, but I only plugged in 3. my psu does not have more than 3 VGA connectors. this means a max 450W power delivery. still waiting for atx 3.0 psu with 1200W and above. QUOTE(SSJBen @ Dec 6 2022, 03:32 PM) Stutter Protocol is so shit on PC at the moment that I had to refund the game within 20 minutes. i hear callisto protocol takes roughly 10-15 hours to complete. that's less than 1/3 of god of war's total length Shader compilation issues will bring the game to its knees no matter what hardware you have. This game has got the absolute worst fucking stutters in any game over the last 10 years. It's insanely bad. |
