another notable thing is that most monitors with 10-bit depth will have DCI-P3 color space being targeted...and unclamped. this means when viewing everything you will suffer oversaturation because most of the stuffs are sRGB. unless you switch your monitor profile to whichever that is sRGB color space, or calibrate it using external hardware which I did. then software like photoshop, chrome will load your calibrated profile and provide good color accuracy. does not work for games though because it'll require proper 3DLUT.

but normal users prob don't need to do so. only for nitpickers and those who work with image/photo editing, video editing and printing. or even home theatre.

so apparently it's the adapter problem then. bad QC. dis why i'm gonna wait for ATX3.0 PSUs to hit the shelf. then can order some cablemod replacement cables.

my 4090 (Colorful Vulcan OC-V) edy arrived...but now simpan and act like a trophy only. because my current PSU cannot support it (it has only 3 VGA connections) and I'm still waiting for ATX 3 PSUs with 1200W and above.

if u want my honest opinion...it'll be quite the same across brands. like, say your PC components of MSI or Gigabyte go kaput, where will they be shipped to for RMA? overseas cuz malaysia ain't it.
are their RMA processes good? well I've never RMA'd any of their components before so I cannot give any opinion. maybe it's good, or maybe not? last i've heard is that MSI has goos in their AIOs and has advanced RMA only for NA, and buyers from other continents can eat dirt. last i've also heard Gigabyte literally has had explosive device in your pc if you nabbed their PSU.

if u really want my personal opinion, I'm currently running a MSI 2080 X Trio and afterwards MSI straight goes into my blacklist of shame...well fortunately gigabyte isn't in my blacklist cuz their motherboard is good (and since I'm also using Gigabyte's mobo).

board quality should be on par/above par.

but I believe their fans are very noisy. heard ppl having issues with the audible noise coming out from the fans above 50%. but that was on the phantom and phantom gs. for phantom+ they're using different fan shround so unclear if that happens or not.

i feel sometimes igor jumps into conclusion very quickly but otherwise he's done a good middle-investigation, albeit the narrative he goes with is not accurate...
same happened when igor jumped into conclusion saying it's the easily broken contact point that caused high resistance and yet GN tested it to no avail.
and j2c being drama king as always.

we've seen people claiming
1. poor adapter --> even native 12vhpwr also burnt
2. user didn't plug in fully "it's the user error" --> nicely plugged in connector also burnt
3. there is x and y manufacturer for the adapter and stuffs, and avoid x! --> both x and y burnt

don't want to do guess work...but if none of the above listed is the cause...what else?

have u noticed, after GN (and NVIDIA after) released their professional findings regarding to overheating power connector, suddenly no more reported case? before the findings, almost every single day got new cases.

I still remember when johnnyguru's released an initial findings about improperly connected connectors but people shit on him, now people act cute dy

and also igor releasing half-assed investigations which was good middle investigations but cow shit conclusions that led to massive fearmongering and speculations.

hate on NVIDIA's greedy pricings, but don't blame NVIDIA for something they didn't design (PCI-SIG designed this 12vhpwr connector)

ok la after 1 week of use:
- gaming, e.g. destiny 2 and forza horizon 5 almost everyday
- rendering, blender cycles, iray and v-ray almost everyday

total sessions about 4-5 hours a day. weekend is longer.

no melt no burn no nothing so far. my cpu bottlenecking it during gaming though. expected but as long as my cpu can work till early next year before I switch mobo and cpu altogether then it's good enough.

just make sure you plug in your connector properly. sial when you buy 8k+ item but you are not careful with it. padan muka. "PCMR" some more.

when you plug in the connector/adapter, there has to be an audible click sound where it is properly latched, so if you try to cabut, you can't unless you loosen the latch by pressing it while pulling the connector out. another notable piece of advice I can give is that, plug in your connector to gpu first before installing it.

additional note though:
- there are 4 VGA connectors on the other end of the adapter, but I only plugged in 3. my psu does not have more than 3 VGA connectors. this means a max 450W power delivery. still waiting for atx 3.0 psu with 1200W and above.

i hear callisto protocol takes roughly 10-15 hours to complete. that's less than 1/3 of god of war's total length got guts to sell at full AAA price

tbf such comically large heatsink is not even needed, my 4090 barely hit past 60 °C under gaming sessions and even renders. most of the time it's running below 55 °C...

pretty courageous cablemod actually replied. they're also sending the cables to GN if they're needed to be verified. we'll see if GN intends to find out or not lol.
