does 8700k and 16gb ram will bottlenecking the RTX3070?
currently using 2070 mini. thinking to upgrade to RTX3070. |

QUOTE(cawan @ Jun 30 2021, 02:32 PM) my card with open cases run at 83c top.. just playing NFS Heat and Days Gone. im still experimenting UV. im a noob, so im a bit slow finding the right spot.im limiting the Temp to 73c just to sure card run lowered.. yes im noob. but running at higher temp feel not right.. will try undervolt currently UV my 3070Ti 0.887mV @ 1830Mhz i can get it stable as for now. im still trying to run it for daily usage. from 79/80c, down to 68c while gaming with 98/99 % load. i got tried 0.98X @ 1930MHz, but it has random crash. during stress test no problem, but the crash will appear randomly during gaming. on this 1930MHz, i can get 70c temp. but not that stable. lazy want to fine tune for 1900MHz already. cawan liked this post

seems quite high depends on brands and model.
in my case, i found 3070 more easy to uv rather than 3070 Ti. with 3070, i can uv down to 825/850. but with Ti, i need around 925mV. |

yes i do agree on GPU efficiency. newer cards have better efficiency although the W up.

QUOTE(coolkwc @ Aug 22 2021, 12:56 PM) Of course 3 better than 2 if fan size is same. But from what i saw, 2 fans always larger than tri fan, at least slightly if not by a lot. Also heatsink will be optimised for dual fan as well. No brainer just reduce 3 to 2 with everything remained the same. upgraded from 3070 Holo to 3070Ti Holo.3070 temp much better than Ti. LOL. Ti much hotter. much. |

QUOTE(clawhammer @ Aug 23 2021, 01:43 AM) The problem is with the memory chips i see. and this card hard to under volt. end up i just ran it on stock.1000mV @ 1950MHz still crash and driver restart. plus hard to find other users who have similar card doing under-volting. hoping to copy their setup or config and play around until my card stable. and i think my casing are too old for good air flow (CM Cosmos 1000). previous GPU manage to under volt properly and it runs 65c on load. now easily 75/82c hahaha... but not for long lah, it fluctuates down to 70c too. depends on games demand. |

QUOTE(clawhammer @ Aug 23 2021, 02:34 AM) I've tested a lot of Ampere cards, 1000mV is usually good enough for 1,950MHz. Maybe it's just silicon lottery but usually Tier 2 brands are poorer overclockers. EVGA, ASUS are the top ones. Yes, the temperature usually fluctuates because utilization is always different between games. For example if you play Metro, it will generate more heat than Battlefield 5, etc. QUOTE(yimingwuzere @ Aug 23 2021, 09:18 AM) GDDR6X uses more power, not to mention the 3070 already appears to be pushed to the limit of the ideal power/frequency curve for GA104, the extra 75++ MHz of the 3070Ti worsens it significantly. ok, i thought the under volting mission is to get around 850mV +/- to make it actually look like under volting Typically large 2fan designs use 110mm. Haven't actually tried the 3x92mm slim fan option on my card yet. Gotta figure out a lazy way how to prop them up though, maybe I need to get some zipties. Or just get the Phanteks T30 since I can definitely get that to fit the 3080 Holo + Ncase setup. Differs from card to card (RTX 3080 has higher achievable clocks at the same voltage compared to 3080Ti/3090 for example). The 3080 Holo I have on hand already achieves 1965MHz @ 1V. Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition also broke most of my undervolt profiles. i've monitored the card via GPUZ to see what mV does it run on average or highest on stock and it recorded around 1080mV stable. in your guys opinion, on what point should this card perform stable since 1000mV also crash LOL. does this differences makes any significant "saving"? another thing that i dont understand, why in GPUz it shows boost around 1850MHz but when it operates, it runs between 1905MHz - 1965MHz ? my mission is to get stable undervolting @ 1965MHz since that is the highest i've seen the card can go on stock. |

QUOTE(yimingwuzere @ Aug 23 2021, 12:06 PM) My (not fully tuned) undervolt profile for Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition (the previous, more aggressive ones all failed this game anyway) is 1875MHz@850mV. 3080 not 3070Ti though so your mileage may vary. ok, if set that way, the card will run max at 1875MHz, correct? or 1890MHz if the card/power permits ?is that the max MHz that 3080 can go? |

yeah temperature is my enemy right now.
i only can see max 1965MHz for this GPU (3070Ti) so im trying to play along with it and try to find good mV although it is beyond 1000mV. yeah, i undervolt because i know there must be one point that the card can run stable. just need to find it. |
