Just did the unthinkable and ordered 2080 ti. Feeling guilty supporting Nvidia's greed and a large hole in wallet.

Just received Zotac RTX 2080ti AMP. Some pictures and preliminary bench result.
Tested on secondary PC with brely OC i7 6700K (4.2Ghz). Will test main PC with i7 8700K (4.8Ghz) later. Gfx score seems ok but only hovering around 1900Mhz.

But they will not shift as easy as we though , they would rather sustain the loss until some result of negotiation or election hoping the tariffs remove.
I just price will remain the same.Any 10% increase is equal to 30% price hike in our country sad.gif

What a size , looks like your 1080ti fans are clean like new ,use once and just for benching ?
*
1080ti is daily usage for the past 1.5 years. I was also surprised with the condition without dust. Even my hdd collects more surface dust 😁

Hi, congrats on your new card. Can u share your driver version and windows version? And could you also help to check if the GPU usage during time spy bench is always above 90%?
I am getting different performance on 2 different PC. My main PC gfx score is way low at 12k wherelse it was achieving 14k in the other PC. My observation it was running low GPU usage mainly between 80 to 90% with spikes down to 50%. Thanksbforbyour help!

Update on 3Dmark score & ~10 FPS lower across games i encountered on Zotac RTX 2080 Ti, had a super busy week troubleshooting, finally resolved but not best of solution. Confirm not the GFX card since it was performing good in my second PC.
Tried everything from win 1809 roll back to 1803, fresh windows reinstall, Bios flash to latest/older prior to Intel CPU fixes, all Nvidia drivers. All sign points to the GPU not fully utilized hovering 70 -90% usage. At the end, replaced my motherboard from Asrock Z370M ITX to Asus Strix Z390-E, problem solved. Summary, either Asrock has issue or mITX boards are restrictive.
Just sharing for those who plan to upgrade smile.gif

Left Asus Z390-E, Right Asrock Z370M ITX

lets change all to asus mobo. unsure.gif

Nola, i believe more likely than not the mITX limitation. Just happen Asus is the only available ready stock Z390 board since was planning to go i7 9900K later down the road.

Thanks man , I suppose those that get 7k score won the silicon lottery. What card did you get FE or AIB card ?
*
I got zotac amp. Poor overclocker..barely able to sustain 2050mhz, mostly around 1980mhz.
I think 7k are probably si lottery and water block. Might also be flashed with 380 power limit bios from Galax.

Ic zotac amp oc sucks . How about the temp though for full load ?

The failing RTX 2080ti with graphic artifact and BSOD kinda worrying me to OC the card .  I'll just stay on stock for now
*
Temp is good below 60c. I tried flashed to 380w bios temp up by 10c to 70c.

Most dead 2080ti are FE.

Isnt Zotac AMP! series famous of huge cooler, some even more power phasing and extra power input ( I'm looking at 1070ti AMP! )
Was tempted to get AMP! or AMP! extreme for that free MHW  rclxms.gif
*
Cooler is gigantic so no problem with temp. Power limit is poor at 260w/300w standard reference board design.
Barely any brand with custom board design for now.

Maybe you just got unlucky with sucky chip.

My ZOTAC 2080 Ti AMP with only +110 and +600 MEM OC boosted up to 2145MHz and sustain 2080~2100MHz. Max temp 66-67 C without aircond. Idle temp 35 C without aircond.
*
No doubt, I have never been lucky with Silicon lottery. Nothing to do with the brand since all are reference design.

U have got a very good chip. Most folks who managed to sustained above 2000mhz are on water blocks. Is your quoted clocks sustained during Timespy bench? I noticed mine struggle to sustain above 2000Mhz during timespy (1440p) but sustained >2000Mhz in games @3840x1600 (AC Odyssey, SOTTR, etc). All apps are set to max power usage.

Hey guys, getting ready for ampere to pair with lg c9 hdmi 2.1. now I am confused with cable selection mainly around length and hdcp version.
Length - any issue with length? I know hdmi 2.0 degrade when length more than 2m which I need to use active hdmi cable
Hdcp - all the current hdmi cable sold at lazada is hdcp 2.2. any compatibility issue with ampere hdcp 2.3?

Any advice is much appreciated.

Length - HDMI 2.1 @ 48gbps requires at least 22awg copper cores for lengths no more than 3m. Beyond that, the cable has to be amplified by being an active cable or use a repeater. An active cable could go up to 10m, some does up to 15m - there are no set standards for this. Beyond 15m, you'll have to look at fiber optic core HDMI cables, by that I mean REAL fiber optic using glass and NOT plastic or mylar.

HDCP - HDCP is backwards compatible, but not forwards compatible. HDCP has got nothing to do with bandwidth, it's simply a digital copy protection. So if point A (source) and point B (output) are both HDCP 2.3 compliant, it doesn't matter what cable you use because all HDCP does is activate the handshake flag in the data signal.
Also one more thing to add - there is no such thing as a HDMI 2.1 cable per se. There is only a HDMI cable capable of passing through HDMI 2.1 bandwidths or not, that is all. If a packaging says HDMI 2.1 version cable, that means it's not been verified to pass it. This is why some thick and huge garden-hose like HDMI cables from say 2010 could passthrough HDMI 2.0 just fine eventhough it's not a "HDMI 2.1" cable. The cable is simply well built with high gauge copper cores (likely 18awg or even lower) which allows the signal not to drop due to the low resistance, low capacitance and high inductance.

Thanks bro, this helps a lot.
