Just to share some experiences for 9950x3d + 5090.
1. I used the bios to enable the X3d gaming support (it will disable the non-3d vcache cpus).
Results :
a. MH wilds benchmark shows no different with the score. Smooth benchmark (tested a few times)
b. MH wilds the real game showing stuttering and lower / inconsistent FPS in game (tested a few times)
2. Disabled the X3d gaming support + follow grok3's suggestion by using Scalar 4X (total is 10x) for overclocking. According to Grok3, no voltage is changed, still maintaining at 1.19v. Grok3 said it is "free" upgrade that won't cause stability issue. I noticed only the cpu temp has jump to range 65-76 from 58-70 (rarely hit over 70).
As i checked the msi afterbuner's data, after overclocked, it shows all the 16 CPUs running at 5.48ghz.
Result :
a. Black Myth Wukong, the location that used to show 100-120 fps, now showing 125-140fps. (The cpu temp for this game remained around 62-69 when i was doing the testing, while mh wilds was 65-76)
b. MH wilds also showing higher fps like 10-20 extra.
For these 2 games, most obvious change i have noticed is, both games' FPS become more consistent compare to before the overclocked, less fluctuation.
Lemme guess. Your using Giga mobo with that Turbo OC for X3D cpu is it?
If it was the older versions of Windows, that bios CCD priority setting might have been beneficial but now with improved thread scheduler for Win10/Win11 24H2, its actually better to let Windows handle it as it will use nonCCD cores to run background tasks much like it does with Intel Ecores.
