https://www.tomshardware.com/news/rtx-4080-...ntains-320w-tbp
The 4080 is operating at the 3GHz peak while maintaining its default power rating of 320W, with a peak power rating of 333W measured on GPU-Z. Temperatures were also very good at 60C. It appears to show us that lower core count models will have better overclocking capabilities compared to the RTX 4090.

Return of the giant casing?
*
No. People with RTX4090 probably already got huge full tower case. They are not your average mid-tower budget users.

But I do hope this will create a trend of wider cases.

With the current trend GPU lately, no hope for me to enjoy 1440p 144Hz gaming.
*
be patient gamer. play older gen games at glorious 1440p 144hz.
i'm playing skyrim (which is awfully locked at 60fps) while waiting for the shitstorm to settle.

LMAO. there was an attempt to install it into a case with 167mm cpu cooler clearance tongue.gif

This is why I always pick cases with at least 175mm CPU cooler clearance.
*
even before 4090, i'm not buying any case that has <180mm cooler clearance.

Very soon your PC need 2nd power cord because your GPU will come with a freaking PSU.
They could made second connector to distribute the load, instead of every cable cramped into single connector delivering 600W.

Pin based connection have limits, i used to be working on machine for japanese, they insisted using screw based terminal because it provide better contact.

so basically we have random adaptors melting all over and nobody actually knows why lol? At this rate I think the safest option is probably to wait for ATX3.0 psu's with native 16 pin connectors..

The end leading into the graphics card was fine, but the other end (leading into the power supply itself) seems to have a discoloration or what was beginning to become a burn mark (?)

I'd say kudos to those that are doing testing on their own for the community, considering Nvidia themselves ain't doing anything. Yet.

I wonder if this will carry on to 4080 4070ti.
