which suggest either two parts
1. Nvidia Going to do asic gsync modules... ( so it will compete with scalar freesync/gsync compatible) ( price drop) ( but has monitor panels QC really progress to a level where a general asic can fit for all?? or are we going to see a lot of new gsync monitors that are as bad qc as freesync ones on color accuracy banding  etc??)

2. of its a open fpga gsync module ( then the price wont drop)

What I think about Mr Huang's moves on the Gsync issues :
He is is trying to get rid of the old Gsync as AMD is catching up with freesync.

He is focusing on Gsync HDR(ultimate) where it's unchallenged by AMD.

gsync is expensive because its a fpga. that 4k hdr module at 120hz.. cost like 500usd.. thats on discount ya.. if u or me were to buy those from intel etc.. will cost like usd 1k afaik.

btw its not unchallenged by amd.. its by scalars.. scalars on monitors is by realtek etc.. amd just came up with the idea using DP inherent tech. they dont actually do anything afaik.

mr huang move is just either
1. he is going to open up gsync fpga modules to support all gpu including intel igpu etc.. ( so no cost reduction on the monitors)

2. or he found a way to create an asic version of it which means monitors qc are either
a) getting better in production
b) or going to end up like the crappy monitors u get on highrefresh rate freesync.

of cause for consumers you want 2. a).. that will make them cheap and good...

The only Gsync advantage over freesync is tighter frame rates control.
Freesync lowest frame rates control is 48 where Gsync can do it on 30.

$600 for a x70 level card is pretty unacceptable TBH when you consider the fact that it used to be cost much less sweat.gif

Really wish AMD can push those GPU prices down with their RDNA2 cards - the pricing of GPUs these days are getting out of hand sweat.gif

Also that card certainly will become a nightmare for SFF PC builders laugh.gif

But still stoked for next gen GPUs though brows.gif

Let's not forget that bolehland seller going to jack up the price.. once it's available.

Dear Sifu, I want to check if my PSU can support RTX4080 or not.

My PSU : Silverstone Strider 850W, it has 2 Pcie 8 pins & 2 Pcie 6 pins.
Would it work if I plug 2 x pcie 8 pins + 1 pcie 6 pins onto RTX 4080 via 12VHPWR adapter?

Thanks for answering my question.
