A friend of mine did mri scan in UMMC before and only requires to wait for 1 week. Costs RM850.

jeeez h christopher! so long ahhh
well, look after your back
if u hv sciatica, then the nerve root is touched by a component of the disc, most likely the bulging annulus; i dont think its the nucleus pulposus yet.. if u get this in your canal, you're done for and u wont just have sciatica.
look after your back; try not to sneeze so hard, treat any cough early
dont twist your back esp when reaching up eg for a shelve
if people call you from the back, dont turn your head around, just turn your whole stance, whole body around and face the guy
no bending over to pick up stuff
if u r a student, meaning that u r young, and already have sciatica (i wonder if its correctly diagnosed), then your lifting days are over
good luck

tag me if u get your mri, im sure its just the annulus bulging

Wah...those restricted movements applicable only to people with sciatica or what? Healthy people should be able to do what u described with ease....

the trick is not to exaggerate the back probs; so any twisting is not great if u already hv sciatica; back twisting with axial weight loading is even worse.
that guy is just a student, meaning he is young.. he has years infront of him, so he will hv more time to damage his back.
its bad to damage your back at any age.. but better to damage it at 50s than at 20s... at 20s, ouch u will hv years and years of pain ahead

I did an MRI scan in Assunta PJ in October 2016

It cost around RM801.50.. I think the procedure would be seeing a specialist at the hospital first before you could do a scan

You can try these two places :

Tung Shin Hospital

Lourdes Medical Centre, small corner hospital at Ipoh Road

Call them for their approximate charges.

Also try checking with Columbia Asia. Their room rates don't seem too high.

My aunt, a diabetic, kept falling at home, because the GP
near her house who was treating her overprescribed
medication, dropping her blood sugar too low (below 5).

So I took her to see my schoolmate at Tung Shin, Yap Boon
Hung. Tested her blood glucose, 4.6. So he took her off
glibencamide, asked her to continue metformin.

He ordered a brain scan in case the fall had caused some
small clot, since her legs and one of her arms were weak.

The CAT scan was negative, cost me $ 390.

Their CAT scanner is quite good, 128 slice.

An MRI will cost double that.

Thailand much cheaper.

" I had a CAT scan done at a hospital in Central Thailand -- perhaps the highest-reputation private hospital in a multi-province area. The cost including doctor's fee was about $50. Even granting a wage differential in the 8:1 ballpark, the difference with OP's price is stunning. "

Why does an MRI that costs $99 to $160 in Japan cost $3000, $4000 or more in the USA? (Both countries manufacture MRI equipment).

'' And do you know how much a MRI cost in Japan?

I had an MRI done for my head, late last year at KPJ Ipoh, it was rm800 and another 400 for the analysis by a specialist.

If it costs 3-4 k in the US, the specialist probably got 80% of the money. smile.gif
