If so, I think it's safe to say any degree that's related to pure science here just isn't as valued as they are in other developed countries. But I dare to say a physics degree can prepare you better than a chemistry degree when you're trying to venture in the engineering fields because even chemical engineering is more to physics than chemistry, not to mention the other 3 main engineering categories are basically physics.
