At a loss for words on Buffon leaving us. I was really hoping for him to stay on at least another year...or if not, I was at least hoping he would be involved with the club somehow. These players; you just don't let go so easily. But hey, who am I, the club directors know better I suppose. I hear that it's official that he's going to PSG? Reunion with Dani Alves I suppose hehe.

i'd understand if Buffon joined Real Madrid, atleast they've better chance to win the UCL compared to PSG, and for Gigi to get his long awaited UCL

whatever he does & wherever he goes, Gigi will always have my utmost respect

Yeap, he has done a lot for the club and as much as it hurts to see him leave, I do wish him the best in the future.

The new kit; somehow actually looks better on the players and when seen on the pitch. I still have an issue with the Jeep sticker and I think there's too much 'white' on the jersey. I think it would look nice with the adidas stripes on the shoulder and at least one stripe on each side of the kit - too much white on the side of the jersey. Did you hear about the petition from fans to have the black sticker removed so that it's just the white Jeep logo? I think that would look nice. In fact on the Juventuz forum, they are saying that people are buying the fake jerseys which has no black sticker. I feel like buying our black adidas kit from a couple of years back. Anyone know anyone selling one in mint condition size M?

i think some of the reason it looks better on players against Verona last weekend bcoz of the Scudetto & Lega Calcio patch, other than that, i'd agree...the shirt seems to look to "white" & "blank"
in other word, plain, dull, boring any thing similar

as for the black 3rd kit. Very hard to get one now. I'd searched for some in UK soccershop, got XXL sizes if u want laugh.gif

https://www.uksoccershop.com/p-67290/2015-2...ball-Shirt.html

Yea probably the patches made it look nicer somehow. Man I knew I should have bought that black/gold kit when it was first out! Now I have to try mudah or carousell. Or I dunno if any of the Mitsui/Genting Premium Outlets have adidas and selling old stock. XXL too big for me haha.

Good to read that Allegri and the club are mutual in their agreement to have him stay on. Kinda of worried that they have not extended his contract - I read that they have agreed to have him see his contract through to 2020 and decided later if they want to extend.

In terms of transfer news, I think there are a lot of names and rumors going around - but Emre Can is pretty much official yea? Martial, SMS, Perin, Politano, Darmian and Morata are just names being thrown around but I have no idea how close or official these are yet.

I'm sure Allegri will extend. If he's not, Conte probably gonna be his replacement..since he kinda got into some "trouble" with Chelsea and its players these past couple of days IINM

Yeap, it seems he made some requests to revolutionise the squad - he has too especially with so many key players leaving us this summer. I'm not sure about Conte though, definitely a legend with the club but how he left us at the last minute kind of left a bad taste in my mouth.

I think one of the ways forward for us to continue to be successful domestically and start winning the UCL is to have former players like Pirlo and now Buffon get involved with coaching or tactics somehow - I mean really, some of the best coaches are midfielders, look at Zidane, Guardiola, Ancelotti etc. Buffon could be a mentor to our future goalkeepers. I mean we already have Nedved as a Director and Trezeguet as club ambassador. But of course sometimes it's also up to the individual player.

having both Del Piero & Buffon on club board would be a dream come true...maybe sometimes in the future

Agreed!

Anyway, lets see how the summer mercato unfolds.

It's Buffon's last opportunity to play at top level and he can earn that last huge paycheck. He won't join RM even they do offer him a contract. It's just gonna be a slap to both our club and himself.

The black/gold kit I presume that you're mentioning? That kit is classy AF.

I'm ok if Mad Max continue to be our manager/coach, please no Conte. Apart of his stubbornness on the tactics, I still can't forget the 100 euro restaurant that he threw at us. He was never good at European competitions.

I would say Emre is pretty much a done deal awaiting for official announcement. Unless there's any last minute U-turn lol. It seems a lot reports suggesting Sandro is leaving to Man Utd and Darmian coming here. This season Sandro is nowhere near his form of last season. If any of you notice, he almost never try to take on opponents' def on the left flank. Heck, Asabob is playing much better than him.

Hopefully Marotta will suprise us with a big name signing of a midfielder.

Inter wil be a much stronger competitor. They're qualified for the UCL after Lazio has shot themselves on the foot. That pretty much means a few of their payers most likely will be leaving. SMS is a dream signing, not gonna hope for that to happen tho.

I don't think Ale will be joining us at the board given how he was mistreated at the end of his contract. At least not in the near future. I think Buffon is aiming for the Azzuri job.

Yup, I'm talking about the black/gold kit from 15/16 season. So hard to find now hehe.

Dude! Did you offer this to me sometime last year too? I could be wrong but I seem to remember someone offering me something similar but I think the size was one size too large for me.

Although I kind of prefer without name/number to be honest, this is still quite tempting. Will PM you in due time blush.gif

Just curious, why don't you wear it much these days ya?

hahaha our lucky shirt. We were unbeaten this season when using this kit

i know its sounded superstitious but Milan prefer their away white kit whenever they're playing in UCL final, and they won most of the time

we on the other hand, we won once with our blue-yellow kit(1996) and lost ALL(1997,1998,2003,2014,2017) in our home kit in the UCL era(Platini's era didn't count, its EC)

maybe the next time we're playing UCL final we should use our away kit, hopefully yellow-blue or blue-yellow laugh.gif

I think Juventus played the good football throughout the champions league 2017-18 but it was really hard luck for the team to have a red card and a plenty at the wrong moment. But it is the part of the game and I really want to appreciate the performance of the team overall.
*
I would agree somewhat that we played good football, unfortunately in the UCL, to win it, you must play devastatingly good; and while I see that in the team, it is only in short stints or flashes not and dominant enough to win the cup like Real have. In no way am I belittling the team, I would definitely love to see them win it multiple times and stamp our mark in Europe but it's just the reality of the situation at the moment, we need that killer blow in every match.

In transfer news:

1. Alvaro Morata seen with his agent and our sporting director. Apparently we might offer Higuain to Chelsea in place for Morata? I'm not sure what to think of it, if that happens. Higuain reunion with Sarri.

2. Juve stepping up interest in Pogba coming back.

3. Ancelotti confirmed as Napoli coach - 2018/2019 will be an even tougher season for us, the competition has really stepped up!

I'm not sure of the details of the meeting between Allegri and the Juve board but I think he made it clear that they need to listen to him if we want to win the UCL. Let's hope for the best.

By the way, off topic guys, I think we kind of had consensus that we are all Azzurri fans here. Since they aren't in the World Cup this time around, who are your guys' pick or who will you be supporting? I might go for Iceland as underdogs and perhaps Argentina for the win, but I'm not sure how strong their team is. France looks really strong though.

Also, anyone watching the UCL final this weekend?

yeap. As the fans, to say the team doing underwhelming would be like discrediting the team effort. Juve did well against Barca in Nou Camp, the scoreline (3-0 loss) didn't tell the entire story of the match

Juve did well in the first 20 minutes at home to Spurs, only to do their typical "foot off the pedal" routine after that, but alas, they did the same in the space of 10 minutes in London to turn the tie
against Spurs

the same with Real Madrid. The 3-0 loss at home didn't really reflect the match, as Juve did all they can but scoring...but they did well to reverse that scoreline in Spain only to be denied at the last moment of the match

1. Swapping Morata with Higuain? Didn't really make sense considering Mandzukic is leaving. Morata might not really have an impressive goal tally as Higuain in Serie A, but he's a different player
when it comes to UCL with Juve. Higuain is the downright opposite

2. TBH i prefer SMS over Pogba. Considering Lazio didn't make it to next season UCL most of their key players would probably leaving

3. Idk if Ancelotti is the exact choice if Napoli gunning for the Scudetto. Ancelotti poor record in Serie A speaks for itself. But one thing for sure Napoli with Carletto will bring more focus in UCL

4. Didn't really have a "mood" to watch since my favorite team(Italy) didn't compete in it... The likes of France, Brazil, Spain, Germany looks like top 4 contender to win it though.. As for Argentina, they're
like "Juve of World Cup", doing well in international tournament only to choke in the final. So i didn't really fancy their chances to win it

5. Would definitely watch if got the chance. I'd never missed the UCL final since TV3 showing em back in 2003

According to Marotta, Morata coming back is just rumors for now. In fact some sources are saying they might do a swap for Icardi instead. I don't know if that makes sense, I hope Morata doesn't join Inter; he's too much of a Juve player to do so.

2. TBH i prefer SMS over Pogba. Considering Lazio didn't make it to next season UCL most of their key players would probably leaving

Marotta says Pogba coming back to Juve is Fantasy Football, and so is SMS coming to Juve.

3. Idk if Ancelotti is the exact choice if Napoli gunning for the Scudetto. Ancelotti poor record in Serie A speaks for itself. But one thing for sure Napoli with Carletto will bring more focus in UCL

That's right, their UCL campaign will be boosted by him coaching them. However, if ADL keeps interfering...

Yup2, might be rooting for Liverpool on this one, going with my bro in law who joined me during last year's final. I hope to see some good football.

actually, if you qualify for the UCL first, you need to wear your home jersey. we qualified for the UCL first vs real hence was "forced" to wear the black and white. not surprisingly it didnt turn out well

in chinese terms, the black and white jersey is bad "feng sui" for us in the UCL. hence maybe the reason why this season addidas decided to reduce the blackness and the stripes? hmm.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

i dont think we will be getting a #pogback

a bonaventura or praet (both Serie A standard) doh.gif and a slightly good signing like adrien rabiot is more likely. i highly doubt our mgmt will splash the cash on a marquee midfielder without selling one of our stars

besides, pogba's wage structure at man utd is huge. i mean our owners can afford anything but they prefer to run the club's finances like a business with profit figures in green. so no, i dont think we are getting a pogba even with loan or a SMS sadly.. cry.gif

Potential next season's lineup:

GK: Szc / Perin
DL: Alex Sandro / Spinazzola / Di siglio
DC: Cheillini sub Caldara / Rugani / Bazagli
DC: Benatia sub Caldara / Rugani / Bazagli
DR: Darmian / Cuadrado / Di Siglio
DM: Can / Pjanic
MC: Can / Pjanic / Khedira / Bonaventure or Praet / Matuidi / new signining like Rabiot
MC: Khedira / Bonaventure or Praet / Matuidi / new signining like Rabiot
FL: Costa / Manzu if he extends
FR: Dybala / Bernadeschi
FC: Higuain / Morata on loan

midfield still remains weak. khedira getting older by one more year. bonaventura or paraet is good enough for the serie a and will provide good depth. UCL? still a long shot with those signings

Guys, I'm not sure if you use instagram but if you checkout Mike Graphics @mikegraphxs on instagram, he came up with a render for Juve's kit - Home/Away/Third. Although it is with the Nike branding, I've got to say really like it, like seriously. He even made Jeep look good on the front.

I think Marotta is playing the PR games. After all, he does owe Mad Max a "Higuain of midfield" lolol. I wouldn't mind Juve version of Pogba. SMS is gonna cost a bomb since Lotito hates us with no boundaries.

Hell no to Bona or Praet. We need a starter, we have enough bench players. I would rather recall Mandragora if that's the case.

Let's hope there'll be no major exit(s) from our squad, but if we're going have a major signing, then most likely someone will be leaving.

I was afraid something like this might happen:

Man Utd €85m for Douglas Costa[B]

Manchester United are prepared to pay €85m to prise Brazilian winger Douglas Costa away from Juventus, it’s reported.

After The Sun suggested Jose Mourinho had set his sights on the former Bayern Munich talent, now the Corriere dello Sport newspaper points to a massive offer.

The bid is believed to be in the region of €85m (approximately £75m), effectively doubling the €46m paid to sign him from Bayern a year ago.

The cost of that operation was spread out with a €6m payment to take him on loan and agreement to add another €40m this summer.

Douglas Costa has been a sensation at Juve with six goals and 14 assists in 47 competitive games.

His extraordinary pace and crossing skills made him a fan favourite and he was instrumental in a seventh consecutive Scudetto.

Source: https://www.football-italia.net/121916/man-...m-douglas-costa

Now up to our retaining power and also Douglas Costa to decide whether to stay or not sad.gif
