Depends on what kind of servicing u want to do...full service (full strip down bearings etc) will usually cost around rm180 or less...just ready some extra cash in case got certain parts u need to replace

Thanks bro. How much would be the bare minimum  entry level which i won't die when i use it. 😁
*
nowadays, entry level could cost your rm2k or less.

try searching for exitway, xds, or polygon brand...these brands are quite famous, cheap with reliable components.

but ultimately, it depends on what do u want to use it for...if u ride mainly tarmac n for fitness only but don't like roadbikes, u can try city bikes or hybrid bikes..

but if u want to go off road+road, get 1 below rm2k

Sifus... Quick question. I have a bike with shimano hb-m33 hubs; primary bike and another secondary with rojak Novatec D041SB and Koozer XM490. Worthwhile to swap hubs on secondary bike to primary?
*
i think shud be ok? as long as the width is correct

QUOTE(philipskardon @ Sep 5 2018, 09:45 PM)
Also gunning for more challenging trails.. Was thinking to swap out the rockshox xc32 120mm air with a epixon 140mm. Saves about 800gms, more travel but can't adjust damping rate.. Comments?
*
where do u usually ride? there are more challenging trail like KDCF, Bukit kiara, FRIM etc...maybe u can start at PCP?

QUOTE(mujinkun @ Sep 5 2018, 09:48 PM)
Sifus

Please suggest any good bike rack?

Reguards
*
roof rack or rear rack? rear rack is not authorities friendly though...but u can still use it provided u did not block your rear view mirror+rear plate number

Ive ride in all, mostly in firm previously but now mainly in kdcf and kiara. Swapping out for a longer stroke fork for faster time at technical trails and to cover those humongous tree roots which I fail to.jump over all the time. Also cause those epixon at 140mm is dirt cheap.

Hubs are compatibles... Just wonder if it's worth it to swap. Mostly for the  sound to be honest
*
agreed on epixon cheap price rclxms.gif

140mm is actually enough for most of bukit Kiara or kdcf trail IMHO

as for hubs, if you got extra money, would suggest you to upgrade to better one like novatec..price is quite cheap compared to hope or chris king.

I tried to find a second hand bike seem the seller put price not much difference if I just buy a new ones.

Kona look good and yeah that discount was very surprisingly best to buy.

So currently Kona, polygon got place in my head.

Anyway how about XDS? I stalk few jamboree event, look like lot of rider using XDS. Some even use lauf fork with XDS bike. (look nice and awesome, but I know maybe the fork ia double price of the bike)

For platform pedal, any good product recommended?

the new shimano XT or saint is good, quite wide...but the pin height is not that high

I'm currently using hope F20, very grippy, but its not the widest platform out there

Thanks for the info.

shimano XT 8040- RM2xx
shimano XT 8140- RM3xx
shimano saint m828- RM4xx

I think I will go for wellgo MG1.
*
yup, wellgo would be ok too, as long as the pins is threaded and girppy...

coz last time I used to own a wellgo pedal, but the pins on the pedal were not grippy at all

What wellgo model you use last time? Before I buy need to have more input of advise.

My current pedal which come a long with my polygon bike was xerama alloy pedal from taiwan. It use ball bearing and not sealed type. after many years I think to replace it.
*
I think it was wellgo cnc B124 platform pedal...notice the pin is made up of bolt head, which, over time, will get roundish and losing grip

so, the MG1 you chose is better because the threaded of the pins will give extra grip nod.gif

So the B124 pin can not be exchange? I thought those pin can exchange as long as it is not build in.

user posted image

The MG1 is very old classic model. I read the review seem good and the price is nice. That why I think to get 1 and try it.

B124 pin can be changed, but it will later on got worn out, getting roundish, thus not grippy...because the threaded side is inside but the pin head is exposed

MG1 on the other hand, is grippy due to pins are threaded side out, design commonly featured on higher end and well know platform pedals
