okay... i managed to solve one part of the problem.. The packet data : connection not allowed error was due to the APN restriction and can be deactivated in the APN settings... found out about it after fiddling for about an hour..

now the second problem... no incoming packets.. will work more on it and let u guys know... ttfn

Added on April 10, 2007, 1:20 ambtw, i just changed to a new 128k sim card just 3 days ago.. maxis 3G..

still no packets received.. unable to login to PTT too...

Added on April 10, 2007, 1:25 amfixed it... under APN control, i created an empty setting.. saved and it worked.. just needed the pin2 code... default is 1234

there are few things that i dislike about the n95..

1) GPS: You cant get that many sats and it takes about 7-9 mins to get a strong lock..

2) Maps function is semi-retarded, hard to use and is not updated...

3) While having 3G, PTT on i cant always make phone calls and get some miss calls, i've been told that this shortcoming its very common for nseries..

4) Slider doesnt feel that sturdy anymore, and it has only been 1 week..

On the plus side, the camera is really good but the hissing in the video is quite annoying.. maybe i should tone the volume down 1 notch..

The speakers on both sides are really good.. good volume and sounds..

Dude, u shouldnt be doing this..Talking bout how much u like N93i in a N95 thread? what are u thinking?  laugh.gif

You'll get "killed"  shocking.gif

Added on April 15, 2007, 9:33 pm

Why not we just state "Loose Slider" as one of N95s feature?  laugh.gif

So u spent 3K on a 5Mp camera and good speakers.. biggrin.gif
but then i m sure u are still loving it.  thumbup.gif

dude.. get the phone and stop taunting ppl..

the phone to me is just a new prototype by nokia.. a new type of convergence device.. spending 3k on it is actually alright.. doesnt seem like much.. well, maybe it is to you cause u haven't got it and still, here you are...

lets keep this tread clean... do we get a H icon or just 3G when connected to HSDPA? cause i tried in SS2 before and they have HSDPA there but at the same location using the N95, it just shows 3G..

Added on April 16, 2007, 5:33 pmthey should actually have some permanent fix for the slider.. dont want to go the the service center every fortnight just to tighten it up..

I don't about you. But I've called Maxis (123) and they've sent those settings to me via SMS. I've saved it. Restart my phone and still can't use the 3G. All I get is 'Packet Data: Packet Data connection not available.'  sad.gif

Added on April 18, 2007, 10:54 amWait.. Can I use 3G to surf the net besides using GPRS? I'm blur now   unsure.gif

i think i can help you with that error... go to settings/connections/APN Control .. check whether Restrictions is active or inactive, if its active, disable it.. then you go to options and add a name manually.. create an empty name..

Added on April 18, 2007, 11:37 amoh yeah... can anyone control the music using the remote on the headset? i cant seem to do anything with that other than listen to the radio..
