just updated the software for my n95 and overall i say that its faster than the older firmware.. try sliding out the music keys and let the icons load, then you can see that its alot faster... camera start and taking pictures still takes a long time.. locking on to 3G signal is faster..

i'll test it somemore and update the firmware differences..

okay.. i think battery lvl's have improved in the new firmware.. turned on PTT for 3 hours and my battery has not gone down 1 bar.. normally it would have reduced by 1-3 bars... i'll try to do a full power test tomorrow and see whether the battery levels have improved..

Yeah, same here. Is it because of the GPS? This is the 1st time Nokia has that sound also AFAIK... BTW, I am having problem with my N95... Cannot send MMS, Browse Internet or even checking emails...

I tot is was my SIMcard. But, when I switch to my N93, there is no problem whatsoever. I tried to put my prepaid Hotlink inside N95 and there is no problem ALSO... The problem of 'Packet Data Not Allowed' ONLY APPEARS on my Postpaid Maxis ONLY... Anyone can verify this? Test it and post your result here...

BTW, bought this phone (2 sets, 1 for my dad and 1 for me) from winners (lelong)... Call Lai for best deal...

its actually your sim card.. try looking back to around 5-10 pages back.. the solution is there..

the firmware update software does not support windows vista, couldnt let me update my phone..

the difference between AP and original is that the original comes with asia map and peace of mind.. you can send in your phone to the service centre and get it repaired for slider, firmware and watever problems that can happen.. for AP set, its even easier to fix those problems, just pray..

you pay extra for warranty and fixing of special issues.. just imagine when your GPS fails to work.. your camera fails..

when you leave your phones with the Nokia center, you get it back the same day..

fixing of loose sliders? AP providers common answer is, "Its Like That One Lar"

Firmware updates? Do it at a nokia center and you dont have to worry about update failures.

Original distributor phones have nothing special about them, you just pay extra for the peace of mind.

there's basically nothing wrong with the n95.. it does everything, not as good as standalone products, but still does it quite well..

i'm not using the phone to the full capabilities as it seems and i just need a good solid mobile..

if you're planning to buy the n95 for its GPS function then i would advise you to wait for its next update. Right now the GPS takes quite sometime to lock onto the satellites, the next update would add AGPS capabilities to the phone.
