what I heard are also the same like what u heard from people...

But after I purchase my and my experience on my unit..  there is no such problems like what they told...
The major problem come from the user.. I think an average user not able to manage a sophisicated phone like N95...

One of the major problem for this people is, they open application.. open open open.. and just use the Red close button to jump back to the front menu..  the application are still running @ the background.. keep open and never exist the application, how well u want the phone to manage keep open application like that? it just like a PC and u keep Open multiple application and don't close the application properly...

beside, the phone don't support 2GB??  User/Forumer here already running on 2GB without any problem...  I think a lot of comments people tell are those who feel like want to buy the phone but end up with something else and keep magnify-ing the problem of this phone...  just to let you know that N95 already been tested working well on a 4GB MicroSD card...

lagging??  a phone with a CPU running on 330Mhz still lagging for u, I think u might want to consider a phone with a C2D CPU on it..  but ur battery gonna last u for maybe 1 hours per charge...

good luck...  icon_rolleyes.gif

I Totally Agree With BuFung.. Some Of The Users Just Don't Know How To Operate A Symbian OS Phone.. They Don't Know How To Exit Applications.. Usually They Use The 'Menu' Or 'End Call' Key To Bring Them To The Standby Screen, Having The Thought That They Have Quitted Everything.. And So, Those Applications Are Left Running In The Background And Consume RAM, Thus Draining The Battery, And Of Course It Makes The Phone Lags.. I Am Not Saying That The N95 Is Incapable Of Multi-tasking.. Leaving Apps Such As Music Player, Contacts, Logs And Messaging Is Fine... But Leaving The Maps Application Running In The Background Is A Big NO NO.. sweat.gif In This Case, The GPS Is Still Activated And Looking For Signals.. Aren't You Draining The Battery Of The Phone? doh.gif

How Many Of Them Know That The GPS Module Is Located Underneath The Keypad And The Bluetooth As Well As WLAN Module Are Located Underneath The Camera And Gallery Button.. They Will Try Very Hard To Get A Satellite Lock Without Sliding Up Their Keypad Or In Landscape Mode... Yes, You Still Can Get A Satellite Lock But It Takes Longer Time.. Or Some Can't Even Get A Lock.. As For WLAN, Try Not To Cover The Camera And Gallery Button With Your Palm While You Are Using Wi-Fi... It Affects The Signal Strength.. I Have Read Through The User Manual And If You Don't Believe Me, Do The Test Yourself.. If You Still Don't Get It, PM Me.. I Can Do A Video Recording And Prove It To You... Placing Your Palm There Will Block The Wi-Fi Signal.. Therefore Affect The Stability Of Wi-Fi (Sometimes Lah, Especially The Access Point Is Far Away).. That Only Implies If The Signal Strength Is Medium/Low.. At Home I Don't Mind To Put My Palm There As The Signal Is Always Strong.. biggrin.gif

The Worst Part Is They Will Start To Complain To Other People That N95 Is Slow, And It Lags, Battery Life Can't Even Last For 24 Hours.. GPS Is Useless, Photos From The Camera Are Oversharpened And Bla Bla Bla.. So, They Give People The Wrong Thought Of The Phone... Now I Am Wondering Do They Know Holding Down The 'Menu' Key Will Bring Them To The Task Manager, And Hit 'C' To Exit The Apps hmm.gif

plague, Yea.. Red Button Can Exit Applications.. But Not All.. I Just Tested System Rush And Snakes, They Still Remain Running In The Background.. Or Is It Just My Phone?

Correct Me If I Am Wrong...

1)  Anyone else have Global Race (downloaded from Nokia site) on their N95 and NOT have problems? I would like to keep this game on my phone if possible.
*
I Have Global Race Installed In My Nokia N95 And Have No Problem With It.. I Downloaded It From nokia.com Website Under Applications For E90 (If I Can Remember Well, Or Was It From symbian-freak.com)... No Hang Or Whatsoever So Far.. My Music Player Is Running Fine Too.. I Have To Admit The Graphics Of Global Race Is Nice Though.. biggrin.gif

You Mean The LED Look Alike Thingy Beside The Camera? It's Not A LED, It's A Light Sensor To Adjust Your Screen Brightness and Keypad Light According To The Brightness Of Your Surrounding... smile.gif

of course u need to set the point..  u can always set ur current GPS position as a starting point.. then set ur destination point..  with this 2 point, then only the system can calculate the route ....

Looks like different fonts are being used in both pictures. So you will have to change your phone's fonts manually. How to do this? Google it.
*
Actually I Know The Way To Change Font.. In Fact I Have Successfully Changed It Before.. But My Question Is What Font Type Is The Thinner One...? I Have Tried A Few Fonts And It Still Remain Thick.. And My Font Size Is Set To Small.

Well since you've already tried a few fonts without success, I guess the trick now would be to use the "Light" weight instead of "Regular/Medium/Roman".

If you're not too fussy about matching the font exactly (per your sample pics), then just choose a typeface like Myriad Pro, Universe or Frutiger which carry a complete set of weights (e.g., Light, Regular, Medium, Italic, Bold, Semibold, Black, etc). Try to get the PC/Windows truetype (.ttf) version of these fonts. I can't help much because I'm using a Mac.

Obviously, it will be a case of trial and error until you find a font that you're happy with.

I Am Using Mac Too.. But Still Have Computer Running Windows, I Will Try To Get The Fonts From There Then.. smile.gif Thanks For The Advice.. wink.gif

I Copied The Fonts From N73 But It Cannot Be Used With My N95.. Although All Of The Files Have The Same Name.. As For The Fonts From Windows.. They Don't Look Fine In My N95.. Better Stay With The Default One For Now..

Regarding the Windows fonts...did you select ones that are actually "Light"? If not, then of course they will still look a bit thick. I have a sample font which you can try but am unable to load the SendSpace site. Any other alternative site? Or email, if you prefer.

Anyway, here's Myriad Pro Light on my N95:

Yes.. I Did Use The "Light" Version And The Result Was Exactly As What You Posted.. But It Doesn't Look Nice Because The Font Size Is Large Although I Have Set It To "Small".. Example Is The "No Calendar Entries For Today" Would Not Fit The Active Standby Screen In One Line.. sad.gif

No prob. What you want is "Light Condensed" then. Or find a font that is already skinny. Like this one: tall-films

Haha, I know this sounds like a lot of effort on your part but really, it's all a matter of being patient and finding a font you're happy with.

And I do have Myriad Pro Light Condensed as well but I still prefer the normal width glyphs.

I Have Tried Quite A Number Of Fonts, But The Original One Is Still The Best.. (Although It's A Bit Thick..)
