People dont realize that even with in-car navigation and voice prompts on built-in GPSes for mobile phones or PDAs, these are still superficially simplified. The voice prompt will most probably be saying something like:-
"300m turn right" instead of "300m turn right into Jalan Ampang".
If you are planning to use the in-car navigation and voice prompts of these built-in GPSes , it's not advisable unless you know the area fairly well. Total reliance on it would mean you missing your next turn because of the inaccuracies as well as the problem with the voice prompt i b quoted above. "300m turn right" to where? What if there are 2 roads/streets close by? Turn into which road? In this case, standalone GPSes like Garmins and TomTom is the better solution. Anything other than these units, like those wanting to use the N95 as their primary car navigation system, will be sorely disappointed. I pity the person who willingly let himself be fooled into thinking that by paying for voice prompts and car nav subscription, you can get a replacement for Garmin/TomTom standalones.
For me, for fun exploring , without the pressing need to be at a particular place at a particular time, i still use the N95, since it is with me all the time. For actual accurate car navigation complete with "300m turn into Jalan Ampang" kinda voice prompt, in my car, i use the Garmin Nuvi 360. For the outdoors under the forest canopy for geocaching and physical (mountaineering,, mountain biking forest walks, camping) activities, i se the Garmin GPSCSx60. You simply cannot have one GPS equipment that does it all.
P/S: If you are more interested in getting voice prompt accurate in-car navigation GPS solution, the Garmin Nuvi 3xx, costs you less than half of the current N95 retail price, and guess what? You get Sirfstar III dead-accurate navigation with pinpoint "300m turn right into Jalan Ampang, and continue 3km turn left" kinda voice prompts, not the lamely used "300m turn right" thingy. The GPS solution built into the N95 are more targeted towards a leisurely "fun" usage like exploring a new city location and getting directions to the nighttime entertainment hotspots kinda thing.
Yo Bro, may I know to get these software and it is free of charge??? Thanks a million...
