Recently I bought my iMac, and I've been using Boot Camp since the first day I got it. After a few weeks, my XP has problems booting up properly. Example, when the windows starts(and gos to the place where there is the desktop and the start menu). It just well TURNS OFF automatically! A blue screen will apear(with texts in it) for a very short moment(less than 1 second), it's quite clear to me this blue screen is trying to tell me an error(or maybe not!) but it's just too fast for me to read even a word in it! I'm actally quite angry because of this... The problem was apparantly fixed automatically, for a week only. Today when I was booting up Windows, the desktop comes out, and whenever I point the pointer in the start menu bar, it's always doing the hour glass thingy, and in like 10 seconds, everywhere you aim with the pointer will show this stupid old fasion hour glass! And BOOM OFF!!! Please help me with this, thanks

could it be your windows is corrupted...hv u tried reinstalling windows...and keep in mind bootcamp is still a beta version software...problems is bound to happen when u use beta version...btw, i'm also new wit apple...just got my macbook pro (intel) last week..already tried bootcamp v1.2 (beta)...no problem so far...

samus... have you tried doing *anything* to fix it?

did you add or remove ram before this? It seen to be RAM problems , XP prompt blue screen most cos by RAM unstable. Or try reinstall XP. Hope it can help you.

No I didn't upgrade my RAM or take it out. Ill try to reinstall it but I don't have the disc with me, will get it soon from APPLE PEOPLE!(haha must target them only can)

Dude, are you having any problems with OSX? If not, then that is good news, very unlikely you are having hardware problems. If you have the same problems with OSX, then it is most likely hardware issue.

Then looking at it the other way around, if the problems lies with using Windows only, then the problem is with your Windows OR Bootcamp, reformat and reinstall it then. If I'm not mistaken you can still backup your Windows partition in OSX, cause OSX can read that partition (may or may not be able to write on it depending on the format you did in the first place).

One last question: Why are you looking for "Apple People" for Windows installation disc?
