QUOTE(andysy @ Apr 13 2009, 05:00 PM) owh! great! how you do it? mine give some tips? is it use a blade n cut it off and use UHU gum to stick it in the middle? or got any special tools or glue? yup.. i use a blade to cut em apart.. but the blade must be sharp end one. since the plastic material for the spoiler is quite soft.. so no prob... then use any modeling cement to glue it.. u can also use super glue to get the job done.where got such tamiya shop selling those paint? any location or outlets? how much is the price? using brush to paint? sorry for asking so much question... paint i use tamiya acrylic water based paint.. the tamiya shop at one utama's new wing underground basement shop got sell.. around 17.90 each i use brush.. u can also use spray if u can cover those small tiny ferrari logo well. |

QUOTE(ian90 @ Apr 14 2009, 12:41 AM) upon closer inspection, the pirelli logos are stickers rite? the pirelli logo are not self made stickers.. first i find the logo from the net.. then measure the size i need for the car & edit with adobe photoshop..(with refer to sample finish model from the net too) btw, the paint looks rough. is tat the best tat acrylic paint can get? wad if i paint 1 layer, sand then paint another layer n sand again? will it get a glossier and smoother surface? =D - then just use normal printer to print out.. apply cellophane tape on top of it for protection. then apply double sided tape behind it.. wah la... THE STICKER IS DONE!! the problem with the rough surface is due to the glossy surface of the original body.. it act a bit like oil surface when i paint on it and is bit difficult to control the smoothness. normally a tamiya paint wont cause this uneven finish results.. i cant paint the whole body with spray can due to those ferrari tiny stickers around. all i can advise is dont paint too thick the first round.. more thin layer is better with one thick layer of paint... happy customised!! and happy tuesday!! Added on April 14, 2009, 9:13 am QUOTE(ian90 @ Apr 13 2009, 07:42 PM) wow! nice! the bottom part very simple to get.. is a artwork framing use's called mounting board.. all stationary shop can get.. just that because it is a bit thick.. cutting curve line need more care.. a good sharp blade is a must!may i know wad is the material used for the bottom part? and where did u get the decals? =p very very impressive work. =D can sell for RM100 edi. haha. good day everyone... today topic is... haha...(sounds like a lecture)
we all know the 599 GTB is a bit boring look compare to other ferrari..(actually the 612 is even uglier...) but not anymore.. let's do some custom.. based on this: the latest 599xx version really love how they do the overall side skirting mod.. look very "garang" so i give you this: overall still in progress stage.. not yet paint and no sticker yet...but happy coz my boring 599 become a bit handsome already.. try it out guys.. is fun! |

QUOTE(andysy @ Apr 15 2009, 07:44 PM) oooh!...how bout if u spray the entire body then remade the ferrari logo the same way u make for "pirelli"? izit sounds better? thanks for your compliments... the ferrari logo that original on the body is very sharp in printing.. the one if i print from own home printer cant match the fine quality.. that y i decide to keep the original logo. anyway.. i think u can offer to help people do the modification dy..u can do ur hobbies/interest as well as experiments on the modification style; and earn some pocket money, then others collectors will happy to collect da modified models. 4 in 1...hahaha.. Good work! and thanks for sharing! |

QUOTE(ian90 @ Apr 15 2009, 09:26 PM) @jimlhy76: wow! nice nice! are the spoilers and skirting made of mounting board as well? =D not sure the f430 u plan to mod is the first version or the scuderia ver. anyway... maybe u can try this out.. me personal love the low profile paintjob very much.. especially the yellow headlights. btw, i just got the 575GTC spoiler from my fren. yeah! gonna mod the F430 soon. but realised tat the actual F430 GT quite boring looking. anyone found any more "crazy" f430 mods in the internet? can post pic here so can become my "inspiration"? lol good luck! |
