One thing I know is that govt worker don't need to pay tax at all.
Their total income can be 4-5k but still no need to pay tax.

Source: ayam have gov worker gf.

I am saying the bracket where they need to start pay tax is higher. do you understand?
for example, last time when i started working, my salary total was 2.2k. and i already had to pay
tax. but govt people, salary total near 4k also not need to pay any tax. their hr also didn't bother
to pay pcb. my gf said it is standard practice.

Oh wow defensive much?

It depends on what totalled to that 4k..or more..large allowances/kemudahan are not taxable..like I said, your generalization just show your ignorance in this matter. But whatever it is, government staffs also pay tax..sometimes the tax bracket hits the maximum percentage, and again depends on which amount is taxable etc

ps. It’s not a “standard” practice..there are rules and maths that went into the calculation.lulz

I think you misunderstood the word defensive. It is you who are trying to defend the govt workers and trying to justify
why they do not pay tax even when their total income is 4k. You should know the law that LHDN applies to private sectors
that ALL income is taxable, including all kind of allowances, even bonuses.  But govt workers has different set of rules it seems.
And you are oblivious to this for some reason.

Lulz ok being an ignorant person who got his source from his newbie girlfriend is a bliss 👀👀

Base salary is taxable..and some other allowances outlined by lhdn also are taxable la boi..but the gomen has fixed some allowances for gomen workers that are non-taxable..so more advantage for gomen la..but if that worker has taxable allowance/income..still will be taxed..if you are unsure which gomen workers have these allowances you need to mingle around more la boi

Your original post you said that gomen workers are not taxed..that blanketing statement is flawed. Gomen workers do get taxed. If you clearly explained that the gomen workers do get taxed, after deducting some non-taxable income, then I won’t think that you were ignorant

Seems like very simple this year.

No more 2.5K + 2.5K for computers.
1k or 2k for parent's gone.
1k for domestic tourism gone.
