i comb her everyday (read some articles before saying that combing will stimulate the oil gland underneath there and she does looks more greasy sweat.gif  especially the place i comb often that day, dunno is it related 100% hmm.gif , just sharing) ...as for the cod liver oil, it was recommend by vets (many vets from different places) and my bf's cousin maltese also on this after get the advice from some expert... and the result is there... it might help to certain extends... of cause we can't solely depend on that...just some supplements...

And for the conditioner,just want to double confirm which brand you all recommend?
remember that chrisoys said before P*****e is good for silky and we can see the result here (she's a real beauty rclxms.gif , chrisoys), is it for straight hair conditioner or for dry hair conditioner? which one you use?  notworthy.gif

Never hear of combing will make the hair oily.

Using Smooth & Silky.

may i know to take care of tis type of dog ya?
i mean bathing it...how to handle the wet fur?

Keep them dry and clean all the time.

Best is to keep them in door. Each pee & poo clean them up using clean water then blow dry their fur using hair dryer (Cool Air).

Harlow all,

[attachmentid=444168]

9 wks old before grooming
[attachmentid=444174]

9 wks old after her 1st grooming
[attachmentid=444171]

10 wks old; juz had her 2nd jab

[attachmentid=444189]
I've been training her to wee wee on da newspaper, but still unsuccessful yet, only 2~4 times out of ten. Hehe. Any advice from all sifus here to make sure she pee/poo on the newspaper 100%? Have tried the housebreaking aid spray too..but useless one.

Cute Silky. But she is undersize ohmy.gif

Comparison your Silky with my 10 & 11 weeks old Silky. No offence ya, just sharing and hope every Silky lover here learn something from the photos.

I think the MKA cert things is true gua...my Mika born in last year November also haven't get her cert yet...the pet shop owner said need to wait till mid of May...sigh....
If the breeder do their job in order. Usually MKA Cert can be collected by the breeder when the Silky is around 4months-5months old.

My little April got quite serious tear stains, between her eyes and below her eyes as well. Her hair at those area seems dry and hardened. Any advice how do I heal these stains?   icon_question.gif

It mean your Silky eyes duck got block, tear run out from their eyes then onto their fur. All dog owner should take care their dog eyes. Every week after bathing give few drop of eyes drop into their eyes. You can get the product at any farmacy. The product name call "Tear Naturalle II" by Alcon. Selling price around RM9.50-RM9.90.

Solving vomit problem.

Bring them out more often. Short or long distance. Your Silky will get use to travel inside the car soon.

have u guys tried not feeding them b4 going on car rides to prevent car sick problem??
like feeding them maybe 2-4 hours before car rides to let the food digest more 1st...
*
Its still the same. Even after 6 or more hour after meal. Your dog will still vomit out all the food.

Best way bring them out for more car ride. Open the windows and let the fresh air inside the car.

Hi there everyone. Want to discuss on an issue here, hope it may be help to each other out. Got to know that Silky's are prone to "intervertebral disc disease" especially if not taken good care of at young age.

Sorry, not to curse or bring up anything sad, but anyone experienced or know more about this to share??? Is it Ok for our Silky's to jump around alot, cuz my pup really likes to jump, and i mean really JUMPPPP, like an equestrian horse, down a 3-4 step staircase. Will it be a problem to them??? Article says that our pups/dogs should not jump down furnitures (Dont know whats their definition of furniture in the sense how high, etc).

By the way, know of any supplements with glucosamine and/or chondroitin to prevent our pups from this health issue?

Thanks for the attention and helps in advance. Good day.
*
Silky are very healthy breed dog. They are hyperactive dog sometime abit barky. Its normal your Silky like to jump flex.gif

Small size dog are not prone to having disc disease due to its size & weight.

So, it is not necessary to give your Silky glucocamine+chondrotine sulfate.

Thats great to hear. I am also surprised when read the article regarding Silky's. Cuz as far as i know, they are extremely active, therefore getting themselves known as Silky "Terror", hahahaha...

Thanks y'all for the info. More glad to continue let my pup jump jump jump now as she's jumping off higher levels from day to day.

Maybe you can consider let your Silky join Agility or Obedience Class.
