jz try my luck to ask if anyone able to get the service tax of rm25 waived from uob?
*
yes, I threaten to cancel the card. they block my card once I request to cancel. Few days a cs called me to offer waiver when I do 3 swipe in 60days and rebated was in within 30 days.

so they did blocked ur card? did they then replaced a new card for u?
*
since I request to cancel, they temporary block it so no further transaction on the card. Once the cs called to offer rebate, they will unblock it when you accept their offer and continue to use the card. if you insist to cancel it...they will cancel and you no longer able to use that card.

For all the above to happen, you must clear all your outstanding before request to cancel card.

was asking this because some ppl may still owe instalment.. so if such a case.. cannot even think to call and waive the service tax?

possible to 'really' cancel the card but continue to serve the instalment?
*
when you have installment on your card, cancelling trick usually will not work. you need to have your card clear. Once you request to cancel the card, they will immediately credit all outstanding installment to your card for you to clear off after you "confirm" to cancel it. the rebate/waiver cs calling come after that.

as for some lanci bank like mayb2me...cimmb... when you call to cancel your card, they will still ask you reasons(don't expect they offer anythg, they just want to know reasons), and when you said sst bla bla bla...they will also happy to heard that and ask you to cut your card in half and they will happily help you to cancel it.

Have two credit cards with UOB, got the SMS for the "up to RM100" weekly cashback promo. If I cancel one card and keep the other, will the other still active card be valid for the cashback offer?
*
Any cc from UOB. As long as your spend fall under their eligible category which entitle you the 5~10% cb (min RM500~RM1000 spending)

How long will the retention team take to call you after you asked for card cancellation? I called CS to cancel my card 2 weeks ago and till now still hvn rcv any call from retention team.. I really want to cancel my uob one card before the sst is charged.
*
QUOTE(cybpsych @ Apr 17 2019, 07:07 PM)
about that.

try call cs back again and push the retention team to call u back asap.
*
I think they will cancel or deactivate your card on the spot when you request and confirm want to cancel the card. Retention team is the guys call to offer something and reactivate back your card when you agree to take their offer. If they don't call you, means they do not want to hold you back.

I did that before, once I called, I cannot use my card till the r.team called and I accept their rebate offer, then they reactivate my card. But base on previous threads users sharing, just wait till sst charged, then straight away call to request rebate/waiver, if they don't want, then only you ask to cancel then they will offer your something on that point. Hope this help.

If you want to cancel the card and don't wish the retention team to call you back, make a firm stand to the CS.
Otherwise, they just put your card into suspension mode till the retention team to call you for closure.
It could take weeks depends on how long the requests put forward to the retention team.
*
QUOTE(cybpsych @ Apr 18 2019, 08:27 AM)
from my experiences, no. CS dont cancel the card immediately. there is SOP for them to escalate to retention team to take up any cancellation request.
*
QUOTE(mamamia @ Apr 18 2019, 08:29 AM)
Yes, my experience same as cybpsych.. CS can’t cancel for us.. only retention Dept / card cancellation Dept can do so..
*
But they do deactivate your card right? When I call to cancel, they deactivate my card and ask me to wait for retention call back. It was three days only before they call me back.

I think Grab Pay can be considered as an e-wallet, you will need to store credit in it to use to pay merchants.
*
But it doesn't have the flexibility like Boost which you have more power to control the fund you loaded in. rclxs0.gif

Who cares? So long it serves purpose, I'm using it on daily basis and reload with AmEx on weekends.

As an e-wallet ...i expect it works like real money just in e-form. Grabpay not so widely accept compare with boost ehh...
