QUOTE(cleoamin @ Sep 1 2020, 01:08 PM) QUOTE(cindelala^^ @ Sep 1 2020, 04:06 PM) This year also rebated, I spent RM0 for both my ONE and PRIVI. In fact I already destroy the cards one year ago.Way I get rebate > call 03-26128121, tekan2 nombor till got 1 option card cancellation. then key in the card no you want cancel and phone numbers. After few days, one person will call you and ask about the cancellation, he/she will block your card and mention cannot waive on their department. then will transfer you to retention team, but mayb will say retention team busy, will call back to you within 2 weeks. After about a week, one more person from retention team will call and ask why want cancel cards, just tell them you dont want pay the SST. He will then help to reverse the charge...and reactivate the cards. -end- |

QUOTE(Dexter @ Sep 2 2020, 09:50 AM) Same situation here. In past 3 yrs (if not mistaken), I've abandoned One Card as under-utilized, but they managed to retain me to hold this card by reversing SST & AF. This year I betul2 want to cancel the card already....after the reverse the SSTI think I'm too kind to accept their offer to retain. Now I've problem managing lots of card. |

QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Sep 2 2020, 05:38 PM) I don't want to pay SST and failed to get SST rebate. Proceed for card cancellation and the card is removed from CCRIS. Also, my CTOS score is prefect and above 800. QUOTE(adele123 @ Sep 2 2020, 06:06 PM) so far, the general consensus is, if you did not use, you dont need to pay. Have not seen anyone experiencing otherwise. of course, the safer bet will be cancel before it is being charged. Better make sure sst is settled before cancel card. card can be cancelled, but outstanding might still be there. Better confirm than sorry, if ccris kena hit by 1. Just my 2cents. |

QUOTE(Nom-el @ Feb 5 2021, 07:24 PM) UOB decided to close all my deposit accounts as I have been doing very frequent fund transfer transactions among my own bank accounts using my UOB savings account. Mine you, they are all my own accounts, no third parties involved. Initially, no reason was provided even when I asked why they wanted to close my accounts. I only found out that was the reason after I emailed them to demand for an explanation and cc to BNM. Only then, did someone call me to ask about the reason for doing so. They apologized and admitted that they should Define your frequent? 50~100 times daily? monthly? if yes, that definitely will be flagged. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Yes, bank do allow own name / other banks same name transfer. I do that every month for paying bills, withdrawal, around 5 to 10 times every month, sometimes 20-30 if got games or campaign. Never encounter any problem at all. QUOTE(Nom-el @ Feb 6 2021, 11:02 AM) The max I did was 10 times daily. I split the transaction every time I needed to perform large amount transfer to many smaller ones because stupid UOB wants to charge me for transfer exceeding RM 5,000 while many other banks are kind enough to waive it. If other banks don't understand that, it is understandable because they don't charge any fee for that. UOB should know better. I also do a lot of debit card transactions on the same day, often times back to back. I have no issue with my account getting flagged. Does it look suspicious on the surface? Maybe. But if they had bothered to check properly, they would find that there is nothing illegal or unlawful happening. They should have checked with me first if they needed clarification. I did not refuse to cooperate with them. I did not ask them to mind their own business as those are my own money. Maybe I should have because it did not seem to make any difference. Save myself some time and the hassle. 10 x daily. I am not saying you are illegal, but this is what money laundering pettern.I am one of those who did that at Maybank. I did not need to go to branch to reset. It resets itself after a while. Maybank did not kacau me at all. As for why I did it so frequently at UOB, I did it to get extra / higher interest and also to participate in bank promotions. If any of you have a UOB savings account, try and check the interest calculation. Then you will know it is not calculated exactly like how other banks do it. You might be surprised that your assumptions about how interest is calculated is incorrect. Things get more complicated when MAB and IAB are involved. I kinda figured out how it was calculated and tried to maximize it to my benefit. To avoid fee for amount >RM5000 Means something like 4999x10 = RM40k-50k daily? That sound suspicious enough for me. |
