Job Title : Data Analyst Associate
Job Description : Analyse client's data and build interactive graphical dashboard for them as well as building predictive models
Age : 22
Years spent in company : 1-2 months
Industry : Audit, Consulting
Tenure : Permanent
Employment Level :Associate
Experience before joining (years) : 0
Highest paper qualification/ education background : Degree in Information System (Business Analytics)
Location : One of BIG4, Damansara
Basic Salary : RM 3000

I am considering to jump ship after gaining 1 year of experience in big 4. However, I hesitate a bit thinking that jumping company after a year might be an indication of "not loyal". Do you think 1 year is good enough?

And is 3000 remuneration a good starting point for my career?

To be honest 1 year of experience is not enough for you to learn enough, I would say 2 years before the next jump would be ideal.

Given that the increment in B4 is pretty low, do you think that moving on to a new company with B4 experience in my resume would offer a huge boost in my salary ?

3000 is quite good. My starting pay back then as fresh grad is even worse.
Agree with coolguy, increment in B4 is pretty decent. what matters is whether you can tahan B4 long working environment only.

Currently I’m in Associate position where I need to climb from
AA1 (me currently) to AA2 and then to Senior Associate

I heard increment from AA1 to AA2 takes about roughly 10% while AA2 to Senior Associate can go up to 4.3-4.5

Best case scenario would be achieving to Senior Associate within 2 years but I wonder if I switch to another company when I’m AA2 would a be better path. 🤔

Overall I can endure the “long” working hours since I don’t mind leaving early from work and continuing my work at home.

So some may say my salary is considered high, but they're way higher than me  biggrin.gif of course they're genius level. < 5 years work exp + below 30 already earning 5 figure.

I'm from data analytics background and graduated about the same time as you (22), hopefully my salary can be like yours when I'm 26 haha

Some tip I can share with you: Learn as much as possible whenever you're involved in any big projects, and elaborate them beautifully in your next CV during your job hunt, not to forget present them interestingly to your interviewer, confidently. And don't be shy to demand up to 30% increment (provided you have worked for at least 1.5 - 2 years in your current company).

And from my experience, usually big MNC (global employee count > 10,000) don't give commendable increment, so the first 5 - 7 years of your corporate life, you salary very much depend on job hopping. Of course you have to be good, and sell your skill as much as possible during interview.

Fun fact: my best increment I have gotten so far is 16%, whereas job hop increment the best I got is about 35%.
*
Currently I worked in a Big 4 firm. (3k starting position). My increment only happens during FEB 2020 (Cut off month) and I joined the company on November 2018. Do you recommend me to job hopping after my increment or stay for another year before move on? This is my first job though

Got my 2nd increment in 1 year I'm with this company. Pretty decent I think. No longer short distance to workplace as I have move bit far (37km) from work. But not an issue for me as I rode motorcycle everyday and just take 30m to reach office. Migh be considering to jumpship in another 6 month or 1 year depending on the economy state during that time. Just bought a 513k terrace house and need to start paying in 2 year, I might have to increase my earning to pay the loan comfortably smile.gif

RM5300 is enough to get a loan for RM513k house? Really?

You will be surprised that what kind of salary can apply what kind of loan.

10k salary already can apply >1m loan (if no other commitment)

If you frequent property section in LYN you will notice

Well I don’t know what’s the endgame there but the whole story just didn’t add up in my view.

Yes, I’m speculating but as mentioned by another poster here, take the info in forums with a pinch of salt.

If I want to fish some cash, I would be replying everyone to sell some shit course for sure. But I didn’t bothered.

Nobody is dumb enough to share what they built. So don’t ask how I got the net income. Also, I’m still learning from many things. I earned RM50k net profit per month but that doesn’t means I’m genius lol. Im no bill gates. I just saw an opportunity and act on it. Simple as that.
