I have done both, stayed and negotiated my increment as well as jumped to get a higher salary. When I graduated, my salary right out of university was 2,200. Year 2 was 2,900, year 3 was 3,750, year 4 was 5,400, year 5 was 7,100, year 6 was 9k. Average annual increment over the years is more than 30%

This was many years ago when 9k monthly was a huge deal but the key is to deliver, and also to know when the organization is willing to support you

when you are a broker this amount looks like a grain in a bag full of grain. i have been working for 5 years (rm60k/year?) until i have a chance to be a broker thanks to covid-19. my first big commission is 2m usd. i dont even want to talk about the small one i lost track already of how much i have earn if i were to add these little one all together. right now im handling a 3.5 billion usd contract for uk government.

After seeing posts in this topic, I believe my pay is kind of low.

I previously was a project engineer for M&E services in construction. However, being a project engineer has very long working hours with no OT pay. That's why I changed into current job, which I only follow office hours. However, I don't feel like I learning anything or improving myself throughout the year, my job are simple, collect report from the projects team then report to HQ in China. Also I don't see any better opportunity in this field (construction project engineer), most of them offer sub 5k salary and request working follow site schedule with no OT pay (construction site mostly work 7 days a week)

I recently considering transition into Data Scientist/Engineering. I have understanding in programming in statistic, I will take a bootcamp soon, and then try to apply jobs in this field. I hope I can at least get my current salary/slightly lower, not sure is it possible. Any sifu here can give me more guidance here? Thank you very much.
