just curious, but I heard heavy lorry drivers that can enter "high security areas" ie: Ports , Fuel Depots etc (container, palm and petroleum tankers) get paid around RM8k ? some even earn twice this if working OT. High salary due to manpower shortage.

any truth to this rumor ?

This is true
The bigger/heavier the truck, the higher the pay.
The license itself is also pretty hefty

wow. Any idea what's stopping long haul bus driver to switch to these lorries instead ? Or are long haul bus drivers just as well compensated.

but it is a pain in the ass facts that driving lorry can easily earn more than most of the professionals today.

its quiet refreshing to see a CEO like you speak very loudly against such low pay for fresh grad. And its disgusting to even read theres some idiots actually agree that a fresh grad deserve no more than 2.5k in KL

just wondering, how much is the company that you're working for willing to pay for a fresh grad? be it whichever department it is, as long as it requires a bachelor degree.

I asked the same question, and he replied RM3k - 3.5k in 2013. Not sure why 2013 specifically, his company not hiring fresh grads anymore ? hmm.gif

In the end he is talking about those really good grads. Obviously good grads have the world as their oyster. If KL offer RM3.5k, Singapore is offering SGD3.5k and Australia is AUD5k. (example for freshie who has a Masters in Civil Eng).

His post is not about people who just manage a pass in a non-rigorous subject. But these people are still needed for things to run, ie: Front Desk Supervisor, certified technician etc. Imagine if a hotel pays every starting staff RM2.5k (minimum wage RM1.2k), will you be willing to pay 2.1x the prices for the EXACT same thing ? RM300/night becomes RM630/night for the same thing. sweat.gif

Guys would you rather pick (example) MYR1000 or SGD325 (simple google conversion) for a contract 1 year job, residing at MSA. This decision u made will affect the next payroll (either you get RM1k constant, or get SGD325, then convert)

Hope this make sense

What does MSA mean ? Malaysia ?

If you choose SGD where will it be bank-ed in ? Directly to your Malaysia bank acc ?
