Good and decent. How do u see yourself in the next 5 years? Plan to climb ranks?

Probably, depending if I can still continue teaching or if I have to take on more management roles.

The thing is you can choose to do that, or not to, depending on how ambitious you want to be.

Some people I know are already a grade or two higher than me in less than 5 years, and some just chose to stay where they are because they are happy with their annual RM250 increments and not having to take on management responsibilities. There are always some trade offs.

SPA8 is your best friend - https://putra2.spa.gov.my/spa8new/login.jsp

Other than that, keep an eye out for advertisements in newspapers.

Your fixed allowance is based on the allocation area?

I am private based.

Ditto.

Depending on what you do, where you are from, and where you are posted, you can claim different types of allowances.

For example, if you are working at your own home state/province, then you will only get a small housing allowance. If you are in the armed forces, police, firefighting services, you might just get barrack allowance. If you are posted from one province to another, then you will get province housing allowance (which can be quite high but necessary). However, if you take a government loan to buy a house at where you are posted, you will lose the allowance and get the paltry housing allowance instead.

Certain lecturers who teach critical subjects might also get something called 'bayaran insentif perkhidmatan kritikal'. These subjects might include engineering based ones. This also applies for other schemes such as dentistry teaching and law officers.
