For senior executive seems fine before moving into middle management level

I see. Thanks. According to Jobstreet, I'm earning above average for Senior Exec.

But with a house loan, the takeaway is not much for me T_T

For your age and location (Penang), pay is considered reasonable.

Amazing. You guys are earning a lot at such young age. By the way, do you guys always job hopping to seek for better increment?  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif
*
Yes, job hopping has increased my salary tremendously. If I had stayed at my old company, I won't even be able to buy my own house.

I've been getting shitty 3% for increment before I decided to jump. Some sectors pay peanuts.

Last year I only got 2% increment lol imagine that.
*
If u are complacent and in your comfort zone, then 2%-3% is standard.

But if you perform above 100% and stay back quite often, then 2%-3% is total bullshit. There are people who are lazy and go back sharp at 5.30pm who also received similar amount.

So I hopped, got a 38% increase and never looked back. The former boss can go to hell.

Lazy is one thing, but going back sharp at 530pm is not an indication of under-performing (old school mindset). I go back everyday 530pm - 600pm but still can deliver and perform well, and I got my performance grade above average 2 years in a row now.
*
Lazy. Fullstop. Pending workload and these slackers leave at 5.30pm sharp. Chit chatting and all.

Big Boss chose not to interfere as he likes to be flattered. So you can see where this is going.

QUOTE(safe118 @ Jul 27 2020, 01:46 PM)
Did your former company was in difficult times for not able to provide huge increment? After you hoped, did you face any new or tough challenges as you already left your comfort zone?  smile.gif
*
slightly above breakeven point. The Chinaman was telling me that 3% is damn good. He can go put a gun in his mouth.

The new company offered me more flexibility and no Chinaman bullshit as the new Boss was an idealist from a top University. Learned a lot and grew fatter at new company.

Considering KL folks spend average 3 hours on road per day, i am still considered ok lah.

So far so good in new place. Still got lots to learn. Been here for 5 months liao.
Nice colleague, nice boss and nice environment too. No more shouting screaming like last time lol.

For me, travelling time is 30 mins average daily. Not too bad.

Your previous company sounds like a 1 out of 10 shithole with degenerates. Glad that you managed to leave with your sanity intact.

Going back on time simply means lazy? LOL

Because of the degrading traditional mindset of yours, people still think having unnecessary OT is considered as hardworking.

Read my responses before making any asinine statement.

You must be one of the lazy ones then.

Obtained 8A for SPM, my school had over 2 dozen who scored 10A and above. Proficiency in English is imperative as well.

My salary is slightly above average for my sector.

Hello,  I have received a job offer within FMCG but different segment/ portfolio

Note: couldn't log in to previous account so posting here as an update:
Job Title : Assistant Brand Manager
Job Desciption : Marketing
Age : 27
Years spent in company : 0 year
Company : MNC
Industry : FMCG
Tenure :
Employment Level : Assistant Manager
Experience before joining (years) : 3.5 years
Highest paper qualification/ education background : Bachelor Degree - Mass Comm
Location : Selangor
Average Working Hours Per Week (incl lunch hours): 40 -50 hours
Monetary Payout
Basic Salary + Fixed Allowance : RM 6600
Contractual Bonus (months): 1 month
Performance, Variable Bonus & Commissions (months) : 1 month

Benefits (where relevant)  - Quite similar to previous job, just without transport benefit as fixed allowance.
Health Benefits : Medical, Dental
Transport Benefits : -
Mobile / Internet / Gadget Benefits : N.A
Flexi Working Hours : N.A
Other Benefits : EPF from Employer 16%, 18 days AL

I am not sure what is the market rate of assistant brand managers out there - but I am thinking to take the offer for a change, to expand my portfolio + the increment in base salary. Is RM 6.6k/ month the market rate for an assistant manager in the FMCG industry with 3.5 yrs of working experience? As I am been hearing different things from different headhunters (My peers encouraged me to negotiate for more, but I am quite satisfied with the new offer with an approximate 37% increment in my yearly compensation package)

Current compensation package as below for comparison:
*
Just about right for AM. FYI, at my previous company AM paid between 6k - 7.5k ....
