Better video stabilise than iPhone X.
Will sell it later.

Really? Just because of the image stabilizer?

What about the carrot drink that pretends to be orange juice when captured on Oneplus6? 🤣

i am using windows 10. only copying huge 4k video files, I am having the transferring issues.

the files are smaller yes, but if you watch this video below, you will know that somehow there is still quality being compromised comparing to JPEG.

given that most systems are not compatible with the high efficiency format plus I am owning the 256gb model, i think i will just use JPEG to save the troubles.

maybe in future, if the formats had become widely acceptable, then I will switch it back.
*
The only reason HEIC size is larger is because you are recording Live photos, which is basically a video recording.
Other than that, HEIC is high efficiency format, better than jpeg which a very old format.

regretted to use the HEIF/HEVC high-efficiency formats. very difficult to transfer the photos/videos out due to huge size. by rite, when copying those formats to a machines that are not compatible with the format such as older version of macOS and Windows, it should do the auto conversion while copying, but always timeout or error while copying huge files.
*
Correct me if I am wrong, you said huge size due to HEIF is difficult to transfer 😗. Just disable it on iOS if you don’t like it or lower the video from 4k to HD. Don’t complain about huge file size if you go around shooting 4k videos.
But I agree Windows 10 is pain in ass to view HEIF files, need some codec and registry tweak to view etc etc.

I am talking about the solution of something not talking about avoiding doing something becos no solution.

No matter what format be it high-efficiency or not efficiency, no one or even Apple has declared that one should not take 4K or high resolution videos becos of whichever format one chooses.

I am talking about the fact that 4K videos in high-efficiency has this problem of transferring to non natively supported OS. I shared this here as this is an used thread. And I am sure other users can easily encounter the same issue. As there is no good solution currently. Thus I am sharing that I will be using compatible format instead.

No point for you to try to argue through becos you misread my earlier message in the first place.
*
Not arguing, I do agree that the transfer takes ages nowadays....because the USB transfer rate doesn’t keep up with the file size growth, such is the side-effect of high res camera.
AFAIK there’s not any manufacturer, apple or android is doing the conversion on-fly when you move files to PC or Mac. This is not just apple specific.

It is exactly becos Apple USB speed is only 2.0 plus need to convert on the fly thus using high-effiency may not be ideal especially for ppl like me who has the 256gb version. One opt for 256gb version obviously will go for the best quality photos and video taking. thus big file size is not something an option. please see the size of the video even for a 1 min 4K video. I dun see a reason why one should purposely take low quality video to avoid big size video file even it is known to have the problematic transfer issue. It defeats the purpose of owning a AAA model phone while one did not take advantage of the maximum capability of the phone especially one owns the highest capacity model.

Most importantly the transfer of huge video on iOS and Android devices are totally not Apple to apple comparions. Most android devices have the 5-mins rule that the device itself can only record 5 mins 4K videos which the file size is certainly limited comparing to iPhone which has no restriction on the recording size. So for iOS device, per video size can be as big as the maximum remaining storage size of the phone itself.

The transfer speed demand already outstripped what usb2.0 can provide since long. Somehow we are still stuck with usb2.0, although there are already super fast buses like usb-c, thunderbolt & pcie.

I had the same problem when transferring big files like HD movies to my phone, it got disconnected halfway, always. It’s so frustrating.

Yes, kind of shame that Apple is still staying at USB 2.0. Especially for such a high end phone and high capacity phone.

With the maximum theoretical speed of 480Mbps for USB 2.0, 256gb of iPhone X will take about 1 hour 20 minutes to transfer all data to pc.

MacBook Pro 2016/17 has USB-c with thunderbolt 3.

on the side note, I have a solution to your problem...upload to Googledrive, select compressed video/photos options, upload and download it back, voila...
not exactly the most pragmatic way to do it, but it works without headache, at least for me.... tongue.gif

No. ipx has 2716mah, ip8+ has 2691mah and ip7+ has 2900mah so battery of ipx is actually in the middle of the pack.

The oled display and higher res screen are real nice on the ipx, I agree biggrin.gif
*
but OLED selling point is energy saving, because it could turn off individual pixels completely, unlike IPS backlight that is alway on.
Dunno lah, don't care, just use the phone and charge lo.

Yeah, because of their spat with Qualcomm, we are the ones paying the price sad.gif
*
Problem is apple is suing Qualcomm for anti-competitive practices that causing apple paying more to Qualcomm than they should bla bla bla.

But we as consumers don’t see any price reduction by apple going intel. The cost savings doesn’t trickle down to us suckers 🤭🤭🤭. And don’t forget the worse performance.

Ahh, OK, haha. I don't have to try it, I know iOS 11 comes with a lot of challenges, ha ha.. Can't wait for 12 to be official smile.gif

If apple plans to sell iphoneXplus at 6k+, they better make damn sure that iOS12 is buttery smooth.
With great price comes great expectations, just like its predecessor iphoneX & ios11. 🤣

this is basically a slap in the face for those that kept saying ipX was dead even back in January 2018. The notch is here to stay! haha

By the way, wonder if Malaysia will get the physical dual-sim tray version or e-sim....

It's not wrong. Ip x is dead. No more ip x but ipxs the shortest lifespan of iPhone model.

I have no regret of buying ipx instead of ip 8 or 7 as I know the next model will look the same and the notch will sure be there. Face Id is confirmed replacing touch ID.
Apple is surely won't simply launch something then change it the next year.
*
Ipx is superseded by Ipxs, it certainly did not die prematurely in January, yet its design & faceID lives on with ipxs.

I guess now Chinese version IPhone is the next hot thing because of the dual-sim 🤣.

Unfortunately even though the X is officially dead, the Xs shares the same exact dimensions with the X which means no fire sales for the current cases of the X laugh.gif

Recently caught my wife eyeing the very expensive UAG Monarch... cry.gif

& apple officially successfully created a god tier priced phone & nobody is questioning it now, smart 😏
