I used to micro manage these settings on android. Moved to iOS hoping I don’t have to do it anymore. Lazy user already - so I just use and charge as and when I like.

Yes, I too used the S9+ for a week before I sold it off. Anyways, Apple's iPhone X is still selling like hot cakes, so much so, their quarter result is very much in contrast to Samsung's.

Well in fairness, they used to during the days of Steve (the infamous I'm a Mac, I'm a PC ad) but that was when they were the underdogs. I guess Sammy feels like that now even though they are number one hahaha...

Used to have the same thought as you dude. Avoid gaming to save battery lifespan. But then, I find it funny that I have to
restrict myself from playing a game in my own phone that I have spent 3k-4k in it. It’s like buying computer, but I better not switch it on too often to save the lifespan. So now I ignore on the ‘save battery lifespan’ mindset and just play whatever game I want on my iPhone. But that’s just me.

Actually iOS 12 isn't that exciting for me. And based on what already has leaked for the iPhones 2018, that's probably not too exciting as well. Probably nice to see what else gets announced. The long, long awaited Air Power? Hahaha...

Edit: On the plus side, I've just checked Apple online, and prices remained the same, looks like no SST imposed just yet. Maybe on Monday...
