The corporate ladder isn't that easy to climb but this shouldn't discourage you from working hard or aiming for promotions. As you move up, you'll get better $$$ eventually.

10K by age 28, possible....but no life...

Some people do claim they earn more than 10K at the age of 28 in Malaysia so I'm curious to know the success story smile.gif Of course it is also undeniable that certain people are making it up.

I think 10K @ 28 would be a pretty good achievement (not the best tho') biggrin.gif

that's quite a sweeping remarks you've made there, kiddo..
placing a broad umbrella blanket on the entire industry without understanding it is like a blind fool feeling up an elephant and describing it as a banana tree, for instance..

what you see/hear/feel so far about MLM is crap... but this does not represent that ALL MLM are crap..
there're certain business framework you need to understand before you start crapping the entire industry out..
*
Don't feel offended just because you're part of the MLM community smile.gif The way you reply doesn't show you're any better than the rest. I couldn't care less and we'll see who is the blind fool at the end of the day. Nevertheless, I wish you all the best in your MLM job.

Most people find it hard to come back when they settle down overseas especially in developed countries. I think it makes a lot of sense why they do so smile.gif

Thanks asc2. There are always people in this world (particularly Malaysians) who often believe in such schemes. For that reason also, it is why most Malaysians get cheated into those ridiculous "get rich quick" schemes.

For the gentleman that replied like a hero and convinced that MLM would make him rich, I offer my support to him and hopefully he can convince me in return that MLM indeed works. Hence, prove it and come back with results - action speaks louder than words smile.gif

@clawhammer,
I'm not here to defend the MLM business but I do believe that there are people who make it in the business - but most are in it full time and starts operating their own businesses, etc.  It's hard work like every other job out there.

For those who sees this as a side business for side income, you may be rewarded but it'll never be as close to what you were told you could achieve based on another individuals' success.

If $ was really that simple to earn, I wouldn't be stuck at the office at this hour  blush.gif
*
Everything and anything can make money. Even a toilet contractor with plenty of toilet contracts can make money. The problem is, how many percent of people in within the MLM really "make" that money? smile.gif

I'm speaking from experience and out of the huge number of friends I have which ventured into MLM, direct sales, etc - no one made it through. Two things to this - either all my friends are crap or the idea of these 2 businesses are plain crap rolleyes.gif

If one is interested in sales, they can always try doing a real sales job. I know people within the IT industry (sales) which makes a lot better than what I am earning. I know people selling financial savings plan, insuarance, etc that drives a BMW at the age of 25. All these are possible if you're on the right track and at least, it's a secured and guaranteed job.

Nevertheless, I do agree that some small percentage of people within MLM makes money. Shall I say less than 1% out of the thousands? Nevertheless, it's up to that individual to decide whether is it worth to spend time on something with such success rate.

Just my thoughts smile.gif

Apparently, ur frineds are not extraordinary ... biggrin.gif

If u believe in MLM , just go on , DO it & make it a sucess !! If u do not, just pray those that do MLM fail  tongue.gif

For example , famous Singer/Actor earn 20 Milion a Year drool.gif  .. But,most of us will said: "u don't dream la !!" You are not 183 cm tall, handsome or beautiful or not enough goodlooking , singi s just so so ...
Ya, a lot of Malaysia Singer struggle but a few had make their name & they are not handsome or beauty...

If u believe it, just GO FOR IT provide u hae the right skills etc !! What people said, just forgot about it....

Don't forget only 1% of people is extraordinary, while 99% is just ordinary!! Why follow the clouds ? Believe urself !!
We know that MOST 9-6 job can't promise much income, is 2K or  3K or 4K or 5K ?
Noramlly how old is an typically chief accountant? A CEO? A director?

QUOTE(Hawarizmi @ Oct 1 2007, 08:07 PM)
during my study i did some small research paper and inerviewed this guy from Transmile (sort of airline company). he's just a technician over there, and his highest qualification is diploma, not remember in what field specifically but some thing to to do with aircraft servicing from MIAT.

Guess what? he's earning monthly is about MYR6K.. but indeed, you need as well to take a test, for sort of a license in aircraft mechanic what so ever in order for you to get the same among of pay wink.gif

The paper qualification is just something to make you get the job easier. It doesn't mean that a diploma holder would perform least better compared to a degree holder. It's unfortunate that people emphasize a lot more on paper education these days compared to the capability of that person.

b00n, whether a person perform or not, it is very subjective and even if he/she has a paper qualification, it does not prove or define capability. There's a lot more than that.

If I'm the interviewer, I would look at experience and character/attitude of that person rather than emphazing on the results and that piece of paper. Nevertheless, paper qualification is a pre-requisite these days - no choice but a lot of times, it's a company HR policy to hire someone with at least a degree.

In conclusion, what I'm trying to say is that you need the paper + relevant experience + a positive attitude. Alternatively if you don't have a paper but with good experience and attitude, you can still make it but perhaps a bit harder.

The corporate working world is like that and we just have to adapt to it. Besides, the world is never fair smile.gif

QUOTE(Aeon_Clock @ Oct 2 2007, 02:38 PM)
I wonder if anyone can help me on my situation. This doesn't have anything to do about this thread title, but since you guys are talking about certificates...I guess I'll give it a go.

I struggle in my studies...quite badly. I always focus on other things like work, part time jobs. But in every job I go to, I can do well there. Well, except sales. At the moment I am left with only one subject and I don't have anymore motivation to continue my college life. My full-time employer has brought me back to the company because the girl who replaced me wasn't good enough. Pay increase wasn't much, but better than nothing.

I can only take that subject early next year, and I really feel hopeless with it...don't think I'll pass it. To make things worse, if I fail it - I'll never get my degree as it is the very last intake for the college. I know that it is just one subject and I should be doing everything I can do pass it, but for the past few months I've been on the verge of giving up college...what do you guys do in this situation?
*
I used to be like you and don't enjoy studying. I'm probably at my worst of boredom whenever it comes to classes and books but I know that getting a degree is a must. I struggled just as much and finally made it through the degree.

Since you're left with one paper, you might as well fight hard for it and make sure you pass. I'm sure you'll be able to do it as long as you try your best and never give up. Like the quote says "Winners never quit; Quitters never win" smile.gif All the best bro.

Anyone cares to share some success stories?

Many of us tend to share "my friend is already 25 and earning 50k, etc" but look, let's not care about how much our friends earn because it might not be genuine after all.

It makes more sense to share our own experiences smile.gif

gtghost, such sms services can indeed make money. I thought of that before but it also involves some agreement with the service provider I believe.

Nevertheless, good for you and all the best smile.gif
