Hello everybody. I recently subscribed to Streamyx 1MBPS and currently using wireless modem supplied by Telekom. This is my first time connection to Xbox Live. My Xbox dashboard is NXE 2008 version. I did several times testing Xbox Live connection without any MTU or NAT problem using official wireless adapter. However, it always prompts me to update to new dashboard. When it comes to update progress bar, it would response update failed and request me to check connection setting and so forth. As a result, I can never login to Xbox Live. Anyone can help me to solve this issue? Many thanks.

I have been trying to connect Xbox Live with my new Streamyx 1MBPS for 2 weeks but to no avail. All relevant ports have been opened (88, 3074, 53, 80) and I even tried to put my Xbox 360 IP into DMZ. It said connected to Internet but cannot connect to Xbox Live. I suspect the Riger modem wireless router (provided by Telekom) is causing incompatibility problem here. May I know which modem wireless router you guys are using to connect to Xbox Live? I intend to purchase a new modem wireless router. I'm using official Xbox 360 wireless adapter. Added on October 28, 2009, 8:21 amFinally, I'm able to connect to Xbox Live without problem. Apart from open relevant ports in my modem router, I also must set manually IP address in my Xbox (actually same address setting as Automatic). In addition, I set my Xbox MAC address into my modem router to reserve the static IP. Now, I can connect to Xbox Live immediately. This post has been edited by Cloud77: Oct 28 2009, 08:21 AM

QUOTE(trustmeiamlegit @ Oct 28 2009, 01:34 PM) hello.. urs is riger DB108WL ?? if yes, can teach me how u port forward for xlive and how did u connect?? Login to your modem router configuration page using tmadmin as user id and password. Then, choose Advanced Setup=>NAT=>Virtual Servers. Select Custom Server and name it as "Xbox Live" or whatever name you like. Enter server IP address with your Xbox IP (usually in this form 192.168.1.X). Enter External Port Start and External Port End with 88 and select protocol UDP. Repeat for port 3074 with protocol TCP/UDP and port 53 with protocol TCP/UDP. Log out from your modem router configuration page. In your Xbox, you must remember to set manual IP (same as the server IP address you set in NAT). Automatic IP will not work even though the addresses are correct. DNS can be left out to Automatic setting. Restart router and test Xbox Live connection. It should work.

QUOTE(trustmeiamlegit @ Oct 28 2009, 10:34 PM) hello still cannot ohh, i put in everthing already... ip add, gateway, subnet mask, dns servers..... error: cannot obtain ip address for modem/router using static ip i wish u had lived beside my house rite now haha... Do you still has other PC or notebook connected to your router? Cannot obtain IP address error message usually is due to another PC/notebook is using up the same IP address you have entered for your Xbox. One way to reserve a specific static IP for your Xbox is by using MAC address which can be obtained from your Xbox Advance Network setting. Jot down that MAC address in a form of XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX and enter into your router configuration page at Advance=>LAN together with your desired Xbox IP address. After that, restart your router and your PC/Notebook as well to refresh DHCP server IP assigment. I hope this will help.
