Hello

just wondering if anyone has exp in this, whats the difference between expensive glasses like OWL or EGG (those boutique like you can find in malls like mid valley , suria klcc etc)

vs

those small shops in sungei wang

I enquired for my power which is less than 400, with changing color lenses, those in OWL can costs 400+ while in sungei wang same thing and costs only RM160

didnt plan to buy glasses, but seeing the price in sg wang i feel like buying. anyone has more knowledge in glasses? how come the diff can be 2x ? is cheaper ones fake? thankss

okay .
in mall they are giving u a real transition lenses .
shop sg wang thy give u photochromic lenses .
Transition lenses is branded and quality , thy change colour darker , shorter time to get dark , and clear . have no prob after wearing more than 1 year , it still as clear as normal clear lenses (indoor)
photochromic lenses there is alot local brand , quality is cheap , change colour slow , and nott dark compare to branded lenses . coating also one of the feature . local lenses have a low quality of coating . branded such as HOYA ESSILOR ETC comes with very good coating with atleast 2 years warranty

wow! thanks for this

I guess its worth the price, what you give is what you get.
The ones in sg wang they give 1yr warranty only and i did remember it changes color very slow. after asking some questions n looking around i see its still a bit dark, i thought thas normal..

branded lenses give your their official certification too, like Hoya. Others I am not sure cause I only use HOYA.
You only have one pair of eyes in your lifetime, don't be cheapskate! RM400 for a pair of glasses isn't expensive.
Mine usually goes up to 4 figures because I cannot avoid it due to some issues with my eyes. bangwall.gif I wish I could change more often following the trend, damn but the cost...... mad.gif

I agree with you. Using cheap ones knowing about this cheap lenses makes me not want to buy the ones in sg wang anymore..you may unknowingly damaged your eyes even if the glasses is still in good condition cause u dont know if they protect your eyes or not
