hi there.,i want to ask.,i want to change new psu.,can anyone recommend which 1 is better gigabyte odin pro 550w or cooler master real power 520w modular psu..tq
*
i'd go for Gigabyte Odin Pro 550W...

why? because it has larger current on +5V and +3.3V, even though slightly lower than CM's +12V rail @18A, but still, it has 4 rails unlike CM's; only 3 rails

Gigabyte Odin Pro 550W - http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/PowerS...IN%20Pro%20550W

CoolerMaster Real Power 520W - http://www.coolermaster.com/products/produ...=detail&id=2685

i'm just doing simple web-research, not base on experience with it... smile.gif, actually my brother using Gigabyte Odin Pro 550W, and it's a good PSU with acceptable noise, wait... noise? yeap... i found that it's louder than my ST56ZF even though my ST56ZF using 80mm fan doh.gif, about that CoolerMaster... no idea...

for ur information, E2 510W are dual rail 18A, which means it can support 3870...  sweat.gif  sweat.gif
*
doh.gif pardon me for mis-understood that...

so, it's 18A + 18A = ±36A icon_idea.gif, do keep in mind, in multirail configuration PSU, the total combined rail is exactly as after we totaled up... it's less than that..., not much though... 2A ~ 4A only icon_idea.gif

Hi bro.The place u mentioned is too high for me. smile.gif
Well some of my question are answered here.Thank you for the help.

My thing is,i don't really intend to get those expensive PSU like zeus, gamextream,pc & c,etc where else an acbel or enermax liberty 500W will do to work my pc runs smoothly. smile.gif
Thats why i really want to know how far can a mid-range power supply go.
*
doh.gif what do you how far can a mid-range power supply go... tongue.gif, if you meant mid-range @RM300~RM400 price range then i might suggest Gigabyte Odin series 550 to name a few, Silverstone ST56F for example...

doh.gif, AFAIK, we don't have Zippy distro, but i think i know someone's gonna bring in the PC P&C brows.gif, can't tell though, it's only too early to tell smile.gif

1kW PC P&C too much le... i mean, it's 80mm fan surely as loud as Delta screamer (eh... they using Delta fan anyway (IIANM))

18A x 4 = 72A le... and do keep in mind, multi-rail design isn't exactly total combined rail, minus ±2~4 unlike single rail, there's no ± icon_idea.gif and single rail always better than multi-rail design...

unfortunately bro sniper it doesnt work that way..  biggrin.gif
instead this rating is what u should look for, dont be fooled by the 18Ax4 rails
wah if odin pro 550w really has 72A on 12v rail then it can already exceed 1000w psu lar  brows.gif

http://img352.imageshack.us/img352/4493/huhurm6.jpg

see what i circled?? that's the total 12v current for the odin pro 550w..
actually the 4 rails are derived from a single 41A 12v rail..  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
hmm.gif, you got the point there... biggrin.gif

in that case yes, but for those multi-rail design - the total likely total combined icon_idea.gif...

perhaps me myself outdated, doh.gif, it is work that way - used to be but depending on how many actually rail/s on icon_idea.gif, like some other PSU got 2x giant rail distributing to multi-rail and some gigantic single rail - the one and only... and this is the best design... not saying this brand bad, this brand sucks... but i'm just saying about the rail design... gosh... i'm single rail freak le...

i think it's your PSU, seriously... 480W, CoolerMaster Real Power (right?), and the rail isn't good enough... 16A + 15A isn't exactly 31A, it could be even lower than that... or worse... 20A doh.gif
