QUOTE(jsnkok @ Nov 13 2007, 06:54 AM) it might be the power cord to the wall socket came loose.. i had experienced this too.. (albeit not with SST PSU) .. had to press the power button many times before the system will boot up.. after changing the power cord, then all ok already tried on same power cord on other PSU, none, nothing's wrong with the power cord, so it's from PSU itself, i don't really know what's wrong with the PSU |

QUOTE(cschun86 @ Dec 19 2007, 09:34 PM) I am looking for a better and higher wattage PSU to replace my current Acbel PSU, off all PSU listed here, if i were you, i'd go for OP650... why?The model that I am quite interested are like below: Silverstone OP650 (2nd hand @ RM550) Silverstone DA750 (2nd hand @ RM680) Silverstone ST75ZF (new @ RM580) Corsair HX520W (new @ RM450) Corsair HX650W (new @ RM550) Enermax Infinity 650W (new but no pricing) Enermax Infinity 750W (new but no pricing) Gigabyte Odin GT 800W (new @ RM620) 1. single 60A +12V rail 2. powerful +3.3 and +5.00 rail too 3. silent 4. non-modular type 5. it's silverstone - i'm Silverstone ST56ZF user why not having DA750? because it's modular type why not having ST75ZF? because it's multi-rail design why not Corsair? because i hate Corsair why not Enermax? because used to love old Enermax product, but now... i think it's just unreliable why not Gigabyte? it's a good PSU, but i simply don't like as well as it's motherboard |

QUOTE(cschun86 @ Dec 20 2007, 01:19 AM) @sniper69, mind to tell me the disadvantages of modular PSU? would it affect the performance of the PSU? i can't really explain in details, but from what i understand, IMO la... modular seems harder to manage those cables (yala... because the cables coming out from from all over PSU unlike modular coming out from one spot you know what i mean?), another thing is... modular vs non-modular... we got voltage regulation loss due to that modular design... like i said earlier... i can't really explain in details secondly... i just don't like modular design, it hurts my eyes badly QUOTE(lohwenli @ Dec 20 2007, 09:19 AM) wah, sniper69..you got a lot of biased opinions there.. But you are still entitled to speak yours no offense for example... Silverstone ST56ZF vs Silverstone ST56F those were same wattage, same company but difference is the price and the spec, why would i choose ST56ZF instead of ST56F? because it's single rail design that's all... as i said earlier... when buyinga new PSU, should be single rail, non-modular design, heavier the better, effective wattage @50°C (that's one of good reason why i choose Silverstone...) and so on... |

IMO... most, i mean... almost 100% of available PSU do have ripple, the only PSU not having ripple as other PSU (lowest ripple) is PC Power & Cooling
errr... that's what i read la from JonnyGuru.Com, eXtremeSystem.Org |

for +12V Rail, it is highly recommended that you get at least 30A either single or combine +12V Rail
