a nice example multi rail psu like is Odin 550W..that has 4 rails..12V1, 12V2, 12V3 and 12V4..if i;m not wrong..each rails 18A.

where can i find Corsair VX550 in low yat?thinking of buying that psu this weekend,since i change to new chasis CM 690, gigabyte superb 460W,the cable is not long enough

i fail to OC cpu above 3.5Ghz, CPU fail to boot, or blue screen.
it that the max OC for pentium D? or my PSU no good enough?
fail to boot vcore above 1.35v.
i had trail Ram ratio 1:1, can go to winXP, after awhile "Hang"

if its owner just using one cpu, one gc ...then his electricity bill still just like normal..
but he's sure not normal to buy this crazy_priced PSU to use with that system..

I think in the days to come, most of us would be using 1kW PSU's considering the fact that newer graphics card eats up more power I thought they are suppose to go green, save energy and consumption.

THEN.. im nearly 100% sure that im not gonna own one of those 1K PSU if their price not going down..and that oso nearly impossible to make it lower than Rm400..
im done..

even now wanna run 8800ultra sli or 9800gx2 sli also need 850W.. so terus get 1kW psu is u wanna run high end SLi lo..

The price will eventually drop 5-6 years ago, I bought an Antec TruePower 350W for RM400

I doubt that will happen, with energy efficiency being the main focus now, even ATI (which produced the ultimate power-guzzling 2900XT) is pushing for more and more energy efficient designs. The 3870X2 actually takes less power than the 2900XT, for a start, and outperforms it noticably in games that utilise both cores properly. For processors, energy efficiency is everything now, the 45nm Core 2 Quad takes less power than most 65nm Core 2 Duos, and power consumption doesn't rise that much even under overclocking.

i oso prefer that next gen mid upper range card from ATI or Nvidia can run on my 560W ST56F..

It's true that energy efficient is the focus these days. I'm not sure about the 3870X2 (not being an ATI fan for a while) but I know the 9800GX2/GTX takes more power than it's predecessor so we can only guess how it would be moving forward. If we want a 9800GX2 SLI, we'll definitely need a powerful PSU.

whats the recommended psu for 9800gtx sli ?

will a pc power & cooling 750w silencer able to cope? or need to get higher one?

is worth it to buy this for OC purpose? only rm290 at robyncom. 12v rail supply 22amp
