I agree, you should even make it about 39KG. I mostly travel without baggage. just carry on. they never check cuz my bag is so small. they didn't even bother

at KLIA2, they have weight machine at the entrance to departure gate now. so looks like all wheeled type carry on need to be weighted. laptop bags are ok.

7kg is actually very limited. The baggage itself will take 0.5-1.5KG. that's why I travel as light as possible.

just a set of pajamas, daily change of cloths and underwear, 1 extra pants.
Others is to bring laptops and accessories. even the bag itself needs to be light.

yup agreed. i always have this portable scale to weigh before departure. normal carry-on 20" is already 2.5 ~ 3kg.
it helps to get lighter bag < 2kg.

Honestly using backpack is more convenient if its just 7kg.

Backpack

The best would be this kinda of bag. can carry by the side as well

it might be ok for adult like us but normally i travel with the family including children. so wheeled luggage is more appropriate for them.

can, everybody is doing it...the compartment above actually can fit longer
just that they limit to that size to have a space to spare in case
20 inch luggage with wheel all can pass, no problem
next size 24 inch though, this one will exceed and require check in

and 20 inch luggage is the smallest u can buy actually, there is no smaller
*

got 18 inch, & also that 16 inch squarish pilot style carry on
