 Can Whey protein substitute other protein foods, for weight loss purposes

i think it's fine. personally i need 150g of protein... if i were to rely solely only whey protein i'd have to make 5/6 protein shakes everyday to satisfy my daily needs. i very much prefer turning on the stove and cook some chicken.
