you can call it "magnify" filter...available from +1 till +10. +1 = 1 time, +2 = 2 times and so on...

how much u get the macro filter?

go out to shoot more, esp insect...i want to know the how much details it can capture and how close, if it is good, i may want to get this macro filter. but right now i got the 50mm f1.8 liao biggrin.gif

It's only CLOSE Up not macro or super macro la..like that no one buy Tamron 90mm oredi hahaha....

i think better for 18-55 lens, coz u can play around with zoom range and can get closer to subject than 50mm can..

no doubt 18-55mm can get closer shoot compare to 50mm but remember prime lens always have better picture quality...kitlen can go down to F3.5 and 50mm is F1.8 smile.gif

It's not a macro filter but a close-up filter. The price depends on the size. The bigger the size, the more expensive it is.

The +4 is not the size of the close-up filter but the close-up factor of the filter. The size is govern by the diameter of the filter, ie. 52mm, 55mm, 67mm, etc.

I asked before a 55mm +4 Hoya Close-up filter during a business trip in Singapore and was quoted SGD15, IIRC.

grats man 50mm lense is an awesome lense.very useful for low light environment.but the trick is do not depend on f1.8 too much, try play around with 2 - 2.8 u'll still get great results!

Ask for the boss name Jeff, he is very very friendly.

Tell him u r recommended by a guy that bought Ixus 850IS from him 2 days ago...
